Then it should be called NFL films Stadium they are the ones who started Americas Team. Landry did not care for the nickname. :laugh2: I loved Coach Landry but I don't expect Jones to name this stadium after Landry when he has so much of his own money invested in this stadium. He is going to look to some company to put out some big money for naming rights

Yeah, I know that but he is one of the reasons we were called that along with others and why it still sticks to this day.

To answer your question, I would have to be satisfied, since all I can do is what I am doing. The whole purpose is to ensure that people don't forget who he was. It has been done for Paul Brown and Curley Lambeau and from what I understand, now there will be a Bill Walsh stadium in SF. Why not the best coach in Cowboys history and one of the best ever?
Actually the field in SF would be named after Bill Walsh. The stadium will still be called Monster Park or whatever it's called.

Well, as I said earlier, this is what I hope to accomplish. Field, stadium, same thing as far as I'm concerned. And as I also said, I think Jerry would get a lot more money if the company, specifically a Texas company was to hitch their wagon to the Cowboys along with Landry's name. IE: Tom Landry Field at Dr. Pepper Stadium or vice versa or whatever.

If we know anythng about Jerry Jones we know he has an ego. He wont name the stadium after Tom Landry or anyone else, because that would be like putting Landry in a superior light to himself.

I can see him possibly naming some part of the park after Landry (Tom Landry Pavilion, or the Tom Landry Boulevard or The Tom Landry Youth Field), but not the actual stadium or grounds.

Southwest Airlines at Dr Pepper Field, where is that petition so I can sign that one?

The petition is pointless. Sorry, but it is. There is no way JJ is going to pass up millions of dollars to name it Landry Field or anything of that like. Frankly, its not worth it.

And it doesn't matter how many sign the aforementioned petition. Its not going to change anything. But if it makes you feel better about it, then do it. Just realize it is a futile endeavor and don't get your hopes up.

What does it hurt for him to try to get something that the majority of TRUE Cowboy fans would like???? Nothing! So if you don't want to sign it fine, and if you think you are the only smart one on here who realizes that the petition does not have much chance then your really not that smart.

Basically I don't see much point in your post other than to bash and bring down some one who is trying to do something that he and lots of others on here believe in.

So you go sign your southwest airlines petition or whatever it is that you want the field to be called.

According to a few here, the naming rights, is already done deal.
Unless there's a bigger offer. Until it is made official it's pretty easy to say a bigger offer will trump the current biggest offer. That's just common sense.

I'm not quite clear on who you're referring to on the unless there's a bigger offer thing, but I guess the obvious question is, just who is it that has an offer on the table?

I'm not referring to anyone. Just stating the obvious. Bids have been taken. There is a high bidder. That company will get naming rights unless their bid gets trumped.

Hence why I asked if there was a known date for an announcement.
