Okay..if you say so. No Zeke trash talking in here at all. Gotcha.

I don't think you can run a cheap stable and have an effective running game. I don;t think you can trot in any old rb either. We tried that up to Murray. He got HIS big contract elsewhere. And so here we are...still messing around? (Let it be known I don;t blame zeke alone for his average play.)

Most of the good teams have a dynamic top runner....and paid pretty decent. yes? Certainly not 5 mil for the "whole stable".

From what I can tell most of the top backs are on bad teams besides Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara. If anything the past ten years shows the Cowboys can get effective production with many running backs. Remember in 2015 when Darren Mcfadden averaged over 4.5 yards a carry? He was making $3 million at the time. Pair a vet making around $3 million a year with two mid-round picks and you could have an entire running back group for around $5 million. You can split carries to get the most out of each runner because they have fresh legs and you have redundancy in case of injury. You can also ride the hot hand if a particular runner is having a good day. The Rams made the Super Bowl with Gurley barely playing. The Seahawks had the leading rushing offense with Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny.

Meh. This line riddled with injuries isn't built to create a donut hole for any back.

Yep and I don’t believe Moore is committed to the run game. I think the 2 biggest issues with run game is Moore and backup Oline. I don’t care who the RB is I would just like to see the scheme overhauled!

If they're smart, they will get Pollard involved more in the passing game. He's got better hands, seems to be faster in space and in my opinion would be a better option than forcing the ball to Wilson or Brown. I would actually replace Wilson's usage with Pollard, his contract will be up.

You might be able to get away with that a little bit. You picked a season that you have 20/20 hindsight. But you can't just magically keep on doing that.

I bet we agree on ONE thing...you do have to invest in the trenches FIRST. If you have a solid O-line...you can do a lot more.

If you have a decimated o-line...it can be very difficult. I love what pollard did to the 9ers. But we need to see what will happen long term It was mentioned last night on Monday night football if you were watching. #2's going up to #1 actually have trouble league wide. I'll see if I can find the quote. If it matters. I doubt it.

And then he pulls away from a defender who has two fingers holding his jersey and Cal Poly calls that "breaking tackles".

He actually didn't have to pull away.. the safety came up and blasted the LB who had hold of the jersey.. Pollard was just smart enough to duck under that hit.. but if the safety doesn't come in head hunting and hits where he is trained to there is no broken tackle..

It's not the scheme.. it's the play calling. This is at its core the same offense we ran with great success from 2016-2018.. The ground game only became less effective when Moore took over. I don't think that is any coincidence. When I watch our running plays there is very little in the way of creativity in them. Beyond that, we don't attack favorable matchups.. We allow DEs to outflank our tackles by simple alignment.. rather than having a plan for when they play wide 9 technique that allows us to outflank them. Teams run blitz us into oblivion yet we are stupid enough to never employ a fullback to take out that blitzing LB.

I'd add the changes in the O line. Not just the injuries, which are huge, but the lack of continuity. People take for granted how incredibly hard it is to be an effective line with so many changes.
You talking about blitzing made me think of a couple of plays where the defense was blitzing and Pollard ran right by them instead of throwing a chip block. Elliott doesn't get them all, but he's much more effective picking up the blitz.

I don't want Pollard to be a #1. I'm not asking for a #1 at all.

to my eyes it looks like Moores employing Full back plays from madden for our tailbacks..
