Normal? No. Is missing half a season every time you get injured like Romo normal, though? The injury habits of Romo are no more normal than the lack of major injuries with Eli Manning. The average is somewhere in the middle. As in, a QB will pick up a decent injury but will more than likely still be able to play. Wilson played hobbled last year. How many times has Roethlisberger played through injuries? Rodgers is always nicked-up, but manages to stay on the field all season (except for the last part of 2013). The list goes on.
BTW...Why didn't Kellen get any starts as a backup in Detroit? Because Stafford was durable and didn't miss a start. Romo's injuries weren't normal. He was on the extreme end of the spectrum compared to most other QBs (keeping company with Palmer). I finally stopped taking my blue pills after that Pre-season game in Seattle. That was it:
I just think that our fanbase has been so traumatized year after year with Romo's injuries that it becomes the norm. We've been beaten down to the point that the expectation of a QB making it through a full or near full season is foreign to us...much less for it to happen multiple seasons in a row.
Will Dak get injured in the future? Probably. Will it be for half a season at a time like it's been with Romo? I'd bet against it.
