Depending on what we do to replace Cobb, Pollard could see some opportunities there as well.

I get that, he's good. But, I just don't get all the love about an average player.

Not sure what you are getting at. If RB's are slipping, which they typically do, then that means all teams have a better shot at getting one later in the draft. This is a well known fact. I'm not making something up here.

You can also get good RB's in FA every year. Like this year you could have gotten Gurley for 6 million per year and Melvin Gordon for 7 or 8 million per year.

And if you are team like the Cowboys and you have a great Oline, then you can get away with NOT having to get some all world back. Those holes will be there.

Every team will have a chance at one regardless, but my point is that if you want to ensure the best odds getting the best or one of the best ones you aren’t going to want to give every team a couple of shots at them before getting your chance.

Aside from the style of offense a team runs, obviously another key factor is how a team feels about the draft class. If there are 1 or 2 RBs a team feels is head and shoulders above the rest, and the team plans on a strong running game, they won’t want to miss out on those guys, but if there are 3-5 they feel are all at or near the same level they might feel better waiting.

the bottom line is there is no one plan that works for all teams and all circumstances.

Pollard did well last season . With zeke underperforming , and the resulting 8-8 record , you wonder if zeke’s cap hit and cost was worth it . Not sure zeke’s presence or absence would have made a difference.
This is my problem with this. Pollard did well but Zeke underachieved? How? Pollard only did damage when Zeke dominated and he'd come in and clean up.

While I probably agree with you.....I don't agree that he's just average. I think his potential for this offense......sky's the limit. I really do. I think he can be special. Not Zeke special. But like being a dual threat. If Moore is as creative as they say.....he can really make Pollard into a great player in this offense. Zeke and Pollard need to be on the field together more than they were last year.

There was a glaring misuse of Pollard n Jarwin last season... I hope a football guy like Big Mike will take advantage of a home run hitter like #20.

I hope you're right. I just see him as a part timer. Don't see anything special. Again, I hope you are right and I'm wrong.

Darwin had one problem last year and that was Witten. I see him as a very good TE for us for the next 5+ years. And Pollard will be used for both his pass catching and running ability. I would like to see us get one more above average WR.

If our Zeke / Pollard duo can be like the Saints Ingram / Kamara duo was, then that'd be great. But because of paycheck, that will unlikely be the case. Zeke will be ball dominant as long as he's healthy. Also, don't know if we have offensive creativity to match mastermind, Sean Payton in our application of running plays.

Well I mean I agree I don't think he's a full-time back. When I say special....I mean in the line of a Alvin Kamara or a Darren Sproles. I'm not one of these fans that see him run off for a big gain and think he's better than Zeke. THat's foolish.

Dominate who ? We lost to almost all winning teams and lost to the jets . Zeke was not himself and lacked the burst and missed many crucial passes . You cannot comfortably tell me the outcome without zeke would have been worse than 8-8

Most definitely it would've. Zeke started off slow for his standards.........Zeke had a great year last year. I don't know what you guys are talking about.

And let's hypothetically say that Zeke wasn't himself. How can anyone give Pollard credit for looking good but Zeke underachieved?

I love him. Needs more opportunities. That is all. Good bye.

Yep. I'm hoping that he's our fifth man on offense. The RB/WR motion guy. One offseason in NFL training should thicken him up a little, while improving burst. He could be really dangerous next year.

It's a good sign that we *haven't* signed a big money slot WR. Makes it more likely that they're planning for Pollard to be a big part of the offense.

His ypc was 5.3. Pretty good, even factoring in that he probably got limited short yardage carries once Zeke was back.

I don't wonder about Zeke's contract. He's good, but it's not worth it. And I like Pollard a lot, but would trust him to last a full season, and we had nothing behind him. The season would have been worse without Zeke.

Except for maybe the coaching. We lost a couple of games by just forcing it to Zeke on 1st and 2nd. Saints and Vikings. Much like Witten, we might have done better without him because we would have used *different plays*.

I'm not sure what level of success he will achieve, but I too hope he does some good things in Dallas. From what I have seen, I like him better than any of the back ups Emmitt Smith had while in his prime.
