Tony Romo.... cocky and arrogant?

I do have concerns about every member of the free-press pumping Romo's rear full of sunshine and offering him large quantities of cheese, but confidence in a QB is hardly something to worry about when the confidence is justified,,, quite the opposite!

He just seems like he's smiling all the time,

And I would be too if I was Romo. I don't know how people confuse happy with arrogant and cocky. He's the new QB of the Dallas Cowboys and doing a damn fine job of it. If I were in his shoes, you'd have to surgically remove the smile from my face.

A little cocky in a QB is not a bad thing.

Montana ... Favre ... Marino ... should I go on?

Yes. please continue! It's great!!! Someone has been serving haterade shots to those fans of the other teams.

I don't think he is arrogant, he's kind of like the President in the fact that his smile hinges on being a smirk and people that don't like him or don't want to like him jump all over it as a reason to hate him "Oh look he's arrogant!"

Bingo!

I used to wear the same expression on my face, and I got the same response.

I'm like "What are you talking about"?

Now, I was confident in my abilities and who I was as a person, but I was never a braggart.

But I think it's more how other people perceive themselves than it is arrogance on the part of the individual who wears the smirk or smile.

Confidence is not arrogant.... besides a "little" arrogance is ok.

The guy is very humble and grounded... especially during interviews. Gives credit to everyone else.

Ok ... Terry Bradshaw ... Joe Namath ... Kenny Stabler ... it was all of these guys character defining quality.

They wore their arrogance like a badge. They were better than you and they wanted you to know it ... and their teammates responded to it.

Almost all the great one's have it to some degree.

I like them thinking that way.
As long as they are complaining it means we are winning!

Great point. I heard they loved Chad Hutchinson's demeanor.

There is absolutely nothing in Romo's demeanor to give the impression that he is arrogant or cocky. He is like a child on Christmas morning, having the time of his life. He does not brag or showboat or taunt or disrespect the opposition in any way. His responses to media questions are all polite and humble as he gives props to everyone in the organization for the team's current success. He is an incredibly likable guy to any unbiased observer, so the logical conclusion is that those who find fault in his demeanor have an agenda. And it aint pro-Cowboys.

He's the smiling assassin.

Thats exactly why they hate him. Its bad enough seeing your team get smoked the last thing you want to see is the opposing QB smiling and laughing. Plus the media mentions his cockiness every game.
