Tony Romo is Overrated
Cowboy's Still Need a Starting Quarterback

Did the Cowboys do the right thing passing on Brady Quinn? True, Brady Quinn is an untested talent in the NFL and Tony Romo has had success in the NFL. Was if really wise to pass on a number one quarterback when your highly paid guy already has a problem with big games and pressure situations? The Cowboys have struggled not only to find a QB like Troy and Roger but also to find a team to surround a QB. They are still searching for a running game that is consistent and now need to start looking for a younger set of receivers but the Cowboys still need to take a look at their Quarterback.
Tony Romo finished the 06 season and completed the 07 season without the big victory needed to build the confidence of his team, coaches and fan base. If you take a look at the wins and losses for the past two years it is easy to conclude the Cowboys have finished each season right where they should have, watching the playoffs from their home. The Cowboys have to put up a series of victories against good football teams. In 06 just their victory against the Colts stand as the only significant win and their losses at the end of that season paint a better picture of the team. I do believe that Tony Romo is a good NFL quarterback but he will need to show more than he has to move this team to the next level.
In each of the last two seasons the Cowboys have ended their season with the ball in the hands of "their" guy and both times "their" guy did not get the job done. Whether it is a field goal attempt that one could argue he should have never been holding for or trying to force the ball to his favorite target at the end of a game, Tony Romo failed to come through in the clutch. It could be back luck or coincidence but we expect our franchise guys to overcome adversity and bad luck and make the plays that win games in the clutch.
