Tony Romo is the most underrated Cowboy ever. Dak is making a case for the opposite

How exactly is Tony Romo underrrated?

Because for some odd reason, when Dallas lost it was always number 9's fault. For some odd reason, Dak seems to get a pass and we are constantly looking his skill players. Romo took players like Laurant Robins, Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton and made them heroic. Dak can't seem to complete a yard flat to Beasley.

Can we in Roger Rabbit voice ppppplllease have ALL these derivative threads put into one big thread? Is there some CZ Christmas gift on grandstanding because this thread could've just been put in the other thread(s) about Dak.

I rewatched the last 3 games. Seriously? Wth happened to Prescott. He couldn't even complete passes when he had time.

Imo last year was the anomaly and this year is the real Dak - a promising 'project' that will require some time to develop. But, since we have a HC in training why not have a starting QB in training as well. After all, it's a process...

Parcells said you know what you have with QBs after three years. I think Dak will be fine but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried.

It's also hard to delineate between players shortcomings and coaches shortcomings after yesterday's fiasco.

As much as I love to shut down the 5% of Romo haters whenever they pop up, we simply have to move on from the comparisons. Let Dak grow into the QB he can be. It looks like he finally might have a decent defense to work with.

Romo wasn't doing anything in year two of his career. It took time, something no one seems willing to give Dak.

Dak overachieved in his rookie year, raising expectations to ridiculous levels. Even when he makes a good play it's not good enough.

Romo isn't underrated.

I disagree. I think Romo is vastly underrated. He's viewed around the NFL fan world as a talented choke artist. A stat compiler. When in reality I believe he was a championship caliber QB anchored to the worst owner and GM in all of sports. Get him out of the circus in Dallas and on a team with enough of a supporting cast and you see a different result over his career.

Romo was a true franchise QB. The slop we have now will never compare.

I see constant praise for Romo on this site. He has an earned massive following. If anything, Romo is overrated by Cowboys fans and underrated by non Cowboys fans. Seems to me you have more of an issue with Dak.

My issue with Dak is that we are pointing blame to skill players like Dez (which is fair), but we are giving Dak a pass. He was not bad the last two months of the year; he was abysmal.
