Tony Romo & Matt Stafford - Hat Backwards Guys - Defines Them

Romo has 2 seasons with more than 15 INTs.
Eli has 7, and 2 with at least 25.

Guess wearing a hat backwards is better than not wearing one at all....or mouthbreathing.

Who will be in the Hall of Fame? And I absolutely hate Eli.

If you're going in for emergency surgery at the ER which one of these guys do you want operating on you? You dont know either one, all you have is a first impression. Its a no brainer.

But the second guy isn't wearing a hat. How could i know for certain that he's a "hat forward" guy and not a "hat backward" guy?

I mean, this is my life we're talking about here.. i have to be sure.

Your first mistake was listening to Colin Cowherd. He comes up with the dumbest sports analogies ever.

I listed to the show today. If it is such a symbol, then what does it matter if Romo continues to wear his hat backwards or not. It isn't going to change the perception of Romo who has stopped wearing his hat backwards for some time now. The perception still exists that he wears it backwards among other things. There is a perception about Lebron James that hasn't changed even though he has two rings now.

The comparison to which doctor you would choose is not a good one. This is about NFL QBs, which is not a life or death situation. Plus I still wouldn't care. Romo wearing his hat backwards has never bothered me. Troy Aikman wore his hat forward all the time and some of those hats during that era were extremely ugly. Should it matter that he chose to wear an ugly hat over a plain all blue plain and simple cap? I don't think it should.

Cowherd also kept comparing the situation to how appearances matter in the business world. This is funny because he has often made the claim that you can't compare sports to life in the real world because they are different animals. Which boss out there is Romo trying to impress with the way he wears his hat? Is he going to get passed over for promotion because he wears his hat backwards, which he doesn't even do anymore. It is such an empty issue. If it truly mattered then head coaches should still be wearing suits on the sidelines. A coach that isn't wearing a suit and tie is loose and lacks discipline in a sport that requires the coach to be in control of every little facet of the game. If he can't dress with some class how is he supposed to coach a team?

It can be a life or death situation for a GM who may get fired because his quarterback does not pan out due to maturity issues. My point is not about Romo though maybe you can tie a player's tendencies all the way back to how he rocks his cap. Going forward drafting quarterbacks you have to take it into account as a GM. Unfortunately Jerry does not and we may have someone like Manziel in the waiting for money purposes instead of someone with a strict background purely business mature 22 year old which are rare. But it happens every year. Peyton vs Leaf, Luck vs RG3, EJ Manuel vs Geno. Are those maturity questions overplayed? Maybe to us but should not be to someone who has to decide a franchises' future with his analysis.

Coward still has a show? I haven't watched/listened to that since my son got a job and out of the house.

Wearing a hat backwards is not an indication or a symbol of maturity issues. Sure maturity issues should be investigated before drafting a player, but judging that from a guy wearing a hat backwards is pretty ridiculous.

Romo has some issues, but he does not have maturity issues. Stafford doesn't, either. If Romo had maturity issues he would be out of Dallas already. QBs lacking in maturity don't last long in the pressure cooker of being a Cowboys QB.

I said my take on it was not about Romo. You ignored the rest of my post. I actually liked some of the other things you mentioned.

Lol really? Don't people realize it's not a "symbol" it's a "style". I will never understand this argument. It's always made by the older male generation who don't understand the "style". I'm 6 days younger then Romo and always wear my hat backwards and that's pretty normal here in CA period. I would have an issue if the hate was sideways. Some of the hats with flat bills fit better with the hat in backwards. Such a dumb argument.

there's a lot of things that are normal in California that are not so normal everywhere else :D I kid though the hat backwards thing really isn't a big deal

It has far less to do with the "style" and much more to do with an overall outlook on life in general. The older guys have lived and learned from experience and see much more than just a "style" preference.

Ok so you are telling me because our generation designs hats to wear backwards that we as a generation have something wrong with our outlook on life?
Sorry I don't care what anyone has experienced. You can't tell me that wearing my designed "DC" hat backwards on a Sunday afternoon in the lake isn't about style. Who are you to tell me what is stylish and what isn't and make a claim that wearing my hat backwards is ABOUT my over all out look on life. Some of the dumbest theories I've heard but this takes the cake.

Colin addressed your "style" argument and pretty much kicked it to the curb. How you wear your hat defines you in some sense. It tells us about the kind of person you are. Just like the kind of car you drive tells us something about who you are. How you dress tells us something about you.

And actually, while he didnt say this, your shoes tells us something about you as an individual. Guys who keep their shoes shines/polished, or looking neat and fresh are certain kinda guys. Guys with scuffed up, or dirty shoes tend to be more frumpy than guys with sharp shoes.

How you portray yourself, or present yourself to others says a lot about you. It doesnt mean one is a better person than the other it just indicates whats going on with you as far as personality, or whats important to you.

Hat backwards, and what you mentioned as flat bill hats, are things that send a message. If you're my plumber, its prob not a big deal. If you're my doctor or attorney I dont want to see some flat bill wearing guy. Its just reality.

So its not just about "style" its more about who you are as an individual and how you portray yourself. Its about what is important to you.

So my attorney buddy who hangs out with us wears his hat backwards out at the bars and on the lake. Sorry what you wear in your profession and what you wear on a Saturday does not define you. You won't see a guy wearing "shined up shoes" to the dunes. Sorry just because you believe he kicked I to the curb doesn't mean it's accurate.

Yeah wearing the hat backwards has everything to do with throwing and INT just like Landry was a great coach because he wore a suit.

Ding Ding Ding. Winner winner chicken dinner! Thank you! There's also a picture out there of doctors who are tatted up and you would never know it. Heck my wife is an RN she has tats in her wrist of her heritage and that doesn't affect her direction in "life".

Yea I didn't hear him today but I heard him yesterday spending a whole segment with Tim Hasselbeck defending Romo. Probably the only guy left in america doing so.
