Ummm...I don't know about the Mets comparison. Weren't they leading the NL east in June? I don't think anyone really expected them to go to the WS, but I don't think anyone was surprised that they made the playoffs, especially with their starting staff. I realize anything is possible but I think the Cowboys at this stage is in a far worse position than the Mets were in June or at any point in the season for that matter.

The Mets had one of the worst offenses in the National League in June. They made some acquisitions, tinkered with their lineup and became pretty good offensively.

As a Braves fan, it was quite painful to see. I knew that if they got some offense coupled with thier great pitching rotation that they'd make a run.

Two ways you can look at it.

Keep the QB that is winning ala Beuerlein over Aikman down the stretch in 1991 like Johnson did.

Or do what Shula did with Griese back in as soon as healthy over Earl Morrell in their unbeaten season.

But we are talking Matt Cassel here. Mr. Winless In This Offense Matt Cassel. Don't think there will have to be that kind of difficult decision to make.

A Matt's home is his Cassel.

"I think all you've got to do is look over at the (Panthers) and realize that this time last year, they were sitting here with seven losses and a tie, and the opportunity for them (to make playoffs) looked slim and yet they ended up in the playoffs," Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan. "I look at the good things with what we're doing. I think we're playing really well defensively. I think we've got a chance to even play better defensively. As we move forward, Sean Lee, Rolando McClain had a great game. We did some good things out there defensively. Anytime you get beat on any circumstances, turnovers or not from your offense, you've got room to improve.

"Let's just see how this thing goes against a good Washington team that did us all right and beat those Giants for us. So let's see what we've got."

Last year Dallas was a top team and close to the Super Bowl quest !!!!! A good draft and we will be back there again.
