I thought it was very interesting to see Tony Romo overrule Wade Phillips when he elected to waive the Punt Team off and go for it.

I believe Tony Romo made the correct choice but I think it did make Wade Phillips look even worse than he already did.

Romo made the right decision. Wade is a *****cat without the cat. It was embarrassing punting and kicking FG's as far down as we were.

Does anyone think for a minute that this would've happened with a HC the players respected? Exactly.

Normally I would say there's absolutely no excuse for something like that to happen, but it was unquestionably wrong for Wade to even consider punting there.

I think its pretty telling though.

In his PC, Romo just said he didn't overrule Wade. He said the call was changed.

I saw Peyton Manning do it once with Tony Dungy, but for some reason it just seemed so different today. It just seemed to sum it all up, and demonstrate, that Wade Phillips is a joke of a head coach.

Would a HC with a clue even thought about sending the punter out in that situation?

Actually, it has happened. Peyton Manning did it to Tony Dungy. And I'm sure his players respect him.

The problem is that Romo doesn't have the pedigree that Peyton does, and Wade doesn't have the reputation Dungy does.

Romo said in his PC that he didn't wave them off and that it was swiched on the sideline to go for it. I don't buy it though. Wade's doofus look says it all.

I thought the same thing...especially when you read Wade's lips as they lined up for 4th down. "Aww...they can't do that..."

I gained respect for him when he did it, I hope he's just saying that to lesson the thought tha Wade has no control.....which we all know he doesn't.
