How about tar and feathers? Is that legal on CZ?

There won't be any blood...but the smell of burning skin might upset someone.
No no no. That would be in violation of the U.N. charter.

Actually... no...

I purely hate posters who have nothing to contribute but gloom and doom... always have, always will...

Rodd just put himself squarely in my crosshairs... hope he enjoys the experience, but somebody should warn him that he needs to bring the facts to the argument if he's gonna try to go toe to toe with your friendly local Bear... all he's been doing so far is making crap up, and that won't fly...

Of course, I reckon it's possible he's just indulging his masochistic streak, inviting abuse in order to validate his feelings of worthlessness... in that case, I'm performing a kind of public service, I guess... :D

Well I found the abuse you dished out funny myself....;)

Trolls do not fall into the category of "enemy combatants", so the Geneva Convention does not apply here...

OTOH, I just hate the smell of fresh tar...

Anyway, with all these namby-pamby rules you're inflicting on me, I'll bet that castration with a dull knife is over the line, right??

How 'bout if we all chip in to get him a good lobotomy??

That's what I'm hoping for when I'm messing with the trolls... I spew as much venom as the rules will allow me to, and with any luck at all, I do it in such a way that some of the regulars get a laugh...

When you guys laugh at what I'm doing, it's kind of like piling on the troll (in the troll's mind)... that makes them even more pissed, they thought they were gonna come in here and get us all upset, instead they get sarcastically mocked for their efforts...

This is not the reaction they were hoping for... :D

With or without anesthesia?

You guys are outta control.:laugh2:

Stay away from operating rooms.

Refresh my memory, how old was John Elway when he won his first Super Bowl??

Then remind me, how old is Tony now??

I'll tell you what, no need to do the research, Elway was 37 when he won his first Super Bowl... he won another when he was 38... and oh yeah, Johnny Unitas was 37 when he made his Super Bowl appearance... and Tony's 32 now...

All in all, if this post is any indication of your football knowledge, I'm considerably less than impressed...

So two super bowl victories out of 44 so far by 35+ year old QBs... and you are highlighting that percentage?

Maybe there were a few more (anybody happen to know), however, the percentages are very low.

Elway played in three Super Bowls before the age of 30.

Unitas won two NFL championsips by the time he was 26.

Any questions?

Yes.

How many Super Bowls did John Elway win before age 30?

When exactly did the Super Bowl era begin?

Johnny Unitas played in two Super Bowls. Do you know what his age was at the time of those games?

You guys can go back and forth all you want. The fact is that you can count the number of Superbowl winning teams led by 35+ year old QBs on one hand.

I can think of only Elway so that is two of them -- although there might be a few more (Plunket maybe?

Elway did it riding on the coattails of 3858 rushing yards over their two super bowl seasons.

In the Superbowl against the Packers (his 1st victory) he was 12/22 for 123 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 Interception. Basically he was a bus-driver at that point.

If you want to make yourself believe Romo's "window" goes beyond age 35 up to age 40 that's fine, but the odds are stacked against him.

oh no.

The odds are stacked against him.

Should we take him out to pasture and shoot him before its too late?

Stop the auto-write off and allow the man to complete his Cowboys career without the age drama.

Well Romo isn't old yet, but I do think we should start looking for the QB of the future pretty soon to develop and wouldn't be against another middle pick of a QB in the next draft. Its the most important position on the field, and needs to be developed at all times.

I know we have Orton to play right now, and while he is a lil younger than Romo, we still need to be developing the position. I would even go as high as a 3rd-4th next year, and if we don't get one that year, then the QB should move up a round every year (like 2nd-3rd round in 2014 and such) til we get one we want.

Not my point at all.

My point is this -- Romo is 32. Franchise QBs like Romo don't come along very often. The Cowboys should do what they can to take advantage of Tony being a top 5 QB before he starts his inevitable slide.

I hate that Romo is 32. I sucks that he had to sit on the bench for 3 years -- although I understand that those 3 years probably directly contributed to him the QB he is today.

The past cannot be changed.

His age is what it is.

Presently, the franchise is taking steps to collectively make this team better.

You and anyone else will have to wait-and-see whether they shall ultimately succeed.

It would be cheaper without, and these days, we all need to watch our budget...

That's all I need to disprove the theory that Romo "has" to win a Super Bowl in the next two years...
