The guy could barely hand the ball off to Murray and couldn't even run five yards to get a a first down with no one in front of him. Just sit the guy before he ends up hurting himself even more. Orton is capable of moving the offense and getting some points. I think Orton has more zip on his football than Tony does right now anyway.

I mean there was that whole game winning drive thing, but um, ya...

Say what you want about Romo but nobody can deny the dude is tough as nails. I don't think he will play though. Doctors won't clear him

I said it before. If he is CLEARED and plays, he will be my all time favorite. No matter what happens in the game or beyond.

LOL and then he avoids a sack and chucks the deep ball to Williams and runs around to set up the LB to get Murray enough room to score.

I'm no doctor but if the team doctors determine no further major damage can be done to the injury, Romo will try to gut it out. I think this will truly go down to Saturday before a definitive decision is made.

Dude is a boss.

Agree. We don't know the real extent of the injury, or how it can be treated before the game. The bigger risk, is the Eagles knowing they can knock him out, and taking a cheap shot roughing the passer body slam
to take him out of the game. The refs will be hard pressed , if he plays, to not be extra vigilant regarding any borderline actions. For once Tony may get Brady like treatment

It gets to where you have to err on the side of causion.

If you put him in and he's injured and it could cause more damage..

..then you sit him.

Look what happened to RGIII last year.

You can't allow that.

So I think you play the game with him possibly playing and not playing..

But you play Orton and pray..

This is why we paid big money for Orton to be the backup. I'm fine with them dragging this out and keeping the Eagles guessing-- as long as they are giving Orton all the reps in practice.

While Romo gutting out a start is a nice Hollywood story-- it'd be incredibly dumb. If he has a herniated disc that requires surgery, he'd be risking his long term health (not just his career) by playing. Too much risk-- not enough reward.

Besides-- I think Orton can play pretty well. Cassel ripped this Philly D apart 2 weeks ago. There will be plays to be made in the passing game for sure-- and if Garrett and Callahan decide to get Murray going early-- we can put some points on the board.

We should be more concerned about our defense stepping up and doing what they can to hold the Philly offense under 24 points.

I rather see a 50% Romo than a 100% Orton

Romo is a warrior, but if we only get him at 50-60%...no thanks.

Now if they can patch him up pain wise like they did with the ribs/lung thing, then ok. But even then, recall that by 2nd half he was usually in pretty bad pain again. Think Detroit, 2-3 years ago.

I don't like our odds.
Run the ball and let Orton manage the game. I know, the defense would have to play out of their minds, but miracles happen.
