Miami has won 6 straight games and Tannehill is playing pretty good so I don't see Romo going there. Bortles turns the ball over a lot but he still a young, productive QB and I'm not sure JAX wants to give up this soon on another top 10 pick at QB since 2011. Denver would be the best bet because they've shown the willingness to take a chance on an aging QB with injury issues when they went after Manning. It's going to take a team willing to gamble that Romo can stay healthy for a year or two but I don't think he can. He's become so brittle getting a full season out of him isn't very likely.

he's not brittle. everyone still thinking he's a 80 year old grandma with osteoporosis.

I would bet on him retiring. He won't find a better situation that what he had in Dallas. Too bad he couldn't take the team all the way when he had the chance.

From BookMaker: Tony Romo team in Week 1 of 2017-18 NFL regular season:

  • Denver Broncos +135
  • Dallas Cowboys +145
  • Chicago Bears +450
  • Los Angeles Rams +650
  • San Francisco 49ers +700
  • New York Jets +900
  • Retire (does not play in 2017-18 season) +1600
  • Field +600
I think Denver makes the most sense.

You took my comment literally, I'm not saying he has osteoporosis but he can't seem to take a solid hit without being injured. He has however had three broken collarbones, a transverse process fracture and had a broken bone in his back.

Thats the nature of a QB who extends plays...not someone brittle. He's also played with broken transverse process...played with broken ribs...played with punctured lung, etc.

Denver makes sense because they've taken a chance on an aging QB coming off an injury in Peyton Manning but it's going to depend on where they feel their team is after this season. The problem with bringing Romo in is he would be a progress stopper for Lynch and Denver may want to go with him next season. Still wouldn't rule Denver out but the more thought I've given it he could end up in AZ because Palmer isn't getting it done and they don't have a young QB waiting in the wings. AZ is in a win now mode and may go after Romo.

Brittle is just a term for a player who's been injured a lot. The injuries Romo has suffered the last two seasons isn't the nature of a QB who extends plays or he would have been going through this throughout his career. He only missed 2 games in four seasons from 2011 to 2014 but now his age and the poundings have caught up with him. What we're seeing is the nature of an aging QB who's body is starting to break down. He's taken a lot of sacks the last few seasons and it's caught up with him.

brittle in 2008 too with multiple injuries, if we're going off your assessment.

2008 -- Broken right pinkie finger. He missed three games that ultimately cost the Cowboys a chance at making the playoffs. They went 1-2 without Romo and lost a winner-take-all season finale at the Philadelphia Eagles. After that game, Romo collapsed in the shower because of a rib injury.

One injury plagued season happens to a lot of players, Romo was 8 years younger then and hadn't taken the many sacks that were to come. He only took 20 sacks in 2008 and 24 the previous season when he played all 16 games. As he began to slow down the sacks started to add up beginning in 09 when he took 34 sacks. He's missed games the past 4 seasons and the last two seasons he he hasn't been able to make it past two games, three times without sustaining a significant injury. He's become brittle.

He's always been slow...dont know how many times I have to say this. He's never been fast...so speed is an irrelevant point. I bet he's just as fast now as in 2007....which is, ironically, slow lol

He was never slow as far as his mobility to navigate/Houdini spin his way around defenders while extending plays. He was quick in that area but has slowed down the past few years. You're thinking about straight away running speed and that's never been apart of his game. He was never a "runner" but he's not as slippery as he once was. Vick had more speed than any QB ever but took a ton of sacks. Most QBs that run or try and extend plays outside the pocket take a lot of sacks. Romo has tried to avoid throwing picks so that's one of the reasons his sack totals started going up in 09.

2014....so close to the NFC title game.
That D wouldn't have held up though.

This year's team would've provided a better chance with Zeke on board, the line even better, and no really strong teams out there.
Even then, our D is pretty vulnerable.
Guess we'll see!

Tony has had some odd injuries, partly just bad luck, and partly due to how he goes down.
I dont think he is brittle.
The carolina injury he was not healed, the seattle injury was just a odd deal and due to way he went down and was hit at same time.
The phil injury was he went down on his elbow, and wash injury was he turned away and was going down in odd manner
and the knee hit him in the back.

He really needs someone to teach him how best to go down in these situations. and to just get rid of the ball quicker.
Other qb's get hurt too.

He's suffered too many injuries the past three seasons for it to be chalked up as bad luck. He's had three different back injuries since 2013. His age and the amount of punishment he's taken has caught up with him.

Don't see where it makes sense for AZ to go from one 37 year old QB to another who has injury concerns. They're better off staying with Palmer and try and find a young QB to groom.
Palmer is very close to being done and the Cardinals are built to win now. There really isn't a window to groom a young QB.

I think Tony is playing in San Francisco next season.

Colin Kaepernick is most likely gone and the Blaine Gabbert career revival hasn't worked out. Tony would be the perfect "bridge" QB if the 49ers decide to draft a QB. He won't be surrounded by talent, but he's good enough to turn the Niners into playoff contenders.
