Too bad about the great Jake Delhomme

Where are all those people saying that we messed up by not signing him?
I think he's now been unmasked without having a top notch RB to make his play action work. He looked extremely mortal to me. I can't believe all those talking heads believing that Delhomme was going to beat the 'Hawks with an over-rated defense and no running back(ala Hambrick). That was mean, I'd take Goings any day over that toe-tipper Hambrick. To me, this game was so predicatable, all that talk about Jack having the best playoff winning percentage of the qb's left in the playoffs. Did they really think he was going to sprout wings or something? Seattle was A), at home, B) at full strength and C) had a pass rush and veteran corners to slow down Smith. This was exactly the opposite of the Dallas playoff game a couple of years. Carolina had all the cards and Dallas went on the road undermanned

One more thing, I'm going to be the biggest Seahawk fan when the super bowl is played, cause the last thing I want to see is for the Steelers to get that fifth ring, 26 years and counting since 'one for the thumb'.

Do I know how to stir up a pot or don't I?

Were you intentionally trying to contradict your point with everything you said in your post?

Basically the way I read it:

Jake Delhomme sucks because he couldn't win with a 4th string RB, on the road, with NUMEROUS injuries to key players, and facing a defense that matches up well with their depleted offense.

dude is a very good QB. Give him a running game and he's very capable of getting to the big dance. We didn't fare so well without a running game. Even Peyton woManning couldn't win AT HOME without Edge putting up a fight. Delhomme was young and eons better than anything we had at the time we had a chance to sign him. I'd probably still trade Bledsoe for him but that's not a knock on Drew.

Delhomme just came down with a case of Manningitis, that's all.

Exactly, not to mention that the Panthers had NOTHING on offense outside of Steve Smith. And if Seattle didn't have a brain fart like Chicago, you put as many defenders around him and play man on everyone else and dare the other receivers to beat you.

Delhomme really had no choice. He was trying to force things and didn't have a running game to rely on and Seattle knew it.

You're the only guy bringing up Carter in this thread. As far as I can tell, Delhomme sucked in this game.

I still think that he is a good qb, but he sucked in this particular game. He did not have the necessary help to play well, and he struggled. I'm not surprised, I would have been surprised if he had played well, under these circumstances.

wow, in three years he's gotten to the SB and championship game.

yeah, he sucks. most teams are great after losing their top 3 RBs. especially in one of the toughest road stadiums in the league.

what a lame analysis.

I brought it up because I KNOW it to be true about Kartr. Thats also the reason he kept referencing Hambrick in his original post.

Other thing is look how many GREAT Q.B's of the past have played poorly or lost in a championship game. Delhomme has one bad game and now he's a Bum???...Too funny.

the one who lives in many fans' fantasy land. he's big and tall and has a strong arm. he can run and needs no O-line and can win with a totally mediocre starting cast. who is he? he is whoever we passed up at any time in the past.
