Too bad about the great Jake Delhomme

Disclaimer: I cant stand the Panthers or Delhomme.

Beside the running game Delhomme looked like garbage. Why are so many of you blind to that ?

He had a horrible game. Made poor reads, made poor decisions, threw poor passes.

Granted the running game was eliminated. Then you have to adjust. It wasnt like Goings went down in the 4th quarter with the game on the line.

Jake played like a rookie.

I think he's now been unmasked without having a top notch RB to make his play action work. He looked extremely mortal to me. I can't believe all those talking heads believing that Delhomme was going to beat the 'Hawks with an over-rated defense and no running back(ala Hambrick). That was mean, I'd take Goings any day over that toe-tipper Hambrick. To me, this game was so predicatable, all that talk about Jack having the best playoff winning percentage of the qb's left in the playoffs. Did they really think he was going to sprout wings or something? Seattle was A), at home, B) at full strength and C) had a pass rush and veteran corners to slow down Smith. This was exactly the opposite of the Dallas playoff game a couple of years. Carolina had all the cards and Dallas went on the road undermanned

One more thing, I'm going to be the biggest Seahawk fan when the super bowl is played, cause the last thing I want to see is for the Steelers to get that fifth ring, 26 years and counting since 'one for the thumb'.

We all should remember that w/o the tools around him no QB gets the job done alone even if their names are Manning, Delhomme, Brady, etc. Bledsoe played as well as possible behind an OL which all thru the regular season consistently failed to open up running lanes for Jones & Barber; and when we did get close enough for a FG, forget it. As a result, we are left home to wonder what might have been if we had an OL like Seattle & a real FG kicker.

So based on 1 game Delhomme is now a bad QB? Get a life. This post is nothing but another dumb ars attempt to try to shine the light on your pot head QB. You truly take the cake.

I think most of the people here would have given just about anything to make it to the championship game this year. And the last time i looked the Cowboy players were shining there putters/irons and hitting the driving range. Lets not criticize a QB and or team unless with have something to back it up with. Big deal when i read we held Seattle to this,we played Caroline TOUGH...maybe the league will give us a pity trophy for the team that coulda/shoulda but CANT!!

This while playing behind the line that gave up the 7th least sacks in the league, with the most dangerous WR in the league. In terms of INTs per ATTEMPT, he was only better than Aaron Brooks, and Brett Favre. Pretty elite company, huh?

Having your starting 3 RB go down played a part in Carolina losing. Goings is a nice change of pace RB but he is not going to force a defense to key on him as is the case with Foster and or Davis.

What I saw alot of yesterday, was a team taking Steve Smith away, and Delhomme, when the game was put on his shoulders, folding up and making terrible decisions. Throwing into quadruple coverage, underthrowing an out when there were three defenders around the recivever. Not saying he is any better or worse just saying being down to your 3rd string RB is more than a small event. Sea did not have to concern themselfs with Going thus they could afford to put 2 and 3 guys on Steve Smith and man up on the others.

Noone had to concern themselves with any of the other RBs, either. That's all I'm saying. Delhomme throwing two quick picks putting his team down early had alot to do with their ineffectiveness, they couldn't run, they were in comeback mode immediately with his mistakes.

Maybe one of the reasons the line was 7th least sacks in the league, was because Jake can aviod the rush. Do you think Bledsoe would have been 7th least sacks in the league in Carolina ?

No, but I think he would have done a hell of a lot better if the Oline was able to generate something even remotely resembling a "pocket." Or, if any time he saw single coverage on Steve Smith, he could just chuck the ball in his direction. Or, half their pass plays were WR screens. Yeah, I think Bledsoe would have done pretty damn good.
