Wait. You can't actually look into it and review our draft classes. That's where you went wrong.

Repeat after me - We always draft well. All of the time. And we're damn lucky to have Will McClay.
No team hits on every pick. But the facts is we hit on more picks than most teams

I'm just kind of going off of memory here not the best researcher but this is the best example that I can give and it relates to exactly what we're watching today if I'm not mistaken we could have had Chris Jones and Travis Kelsey and we drafted Jalen Smith and Gavin Escobar.
In about an hour Kelsey Jones and the rest of the Chiefs will be going to the super bowl and Jalen Smith Escobar and our Dallas Cowboys will be watching it at home.

I used to think that but after looking at a little bit and the players other teams took after we drafted that turned out great we could have done a lot better

They need to stop ignoring certain red flags. No more 1st round development players either.
Totally agree we need some plug and Play players in the first and second round I can see developmental players in the later rounds but the first couple rounds you're looking for guys that can play 10 years for you.

We find guys that are good at marketing themselves smoking dope making rap albums don't get paid and making business decisions.

Well Kansas City draft guys that take them to super bowls that we could have drafted

If it was up to me O'Cyrus Torrance would've been the pick.
Now you're talking what did we need another tight end for that's the one position that we have a good tough player in the mold of the old Cowboys.

Ferguson reminds me a little bit of Walt Garrison

After listening to the banter about how good we draft and will maclay I did a little research and we have flat out wasted way too many second round picks to be successful
With this front office we survive in spite of ourselves man you get a guy like belichick in here in a general manager type position a disciplinary coach in the form of harbaugh or Campbell

Send Jerry and his stupid son on a trip to Australia and let him get lost in the outback for a couple years and we could do something with this team.

In the last 10 years we've hit on like two picks Diggs and demarcus Lawrence.

And even before that pics that had talent still did not live up to their billing Sean Lee was great but too often injured purple drank could have been a great player.

I think we've gotten more productive players out of the third round.
Can't win throwing the second round of the draft away almost every year your thoughts.
This is just one example of how the media and Jerry Jones sells FOOLS GOLD. And why do Cowboys fans buy it?
Because starving for a Superbowl.

They do have 9 all pros on the roster or something like that.
That's swell but they're all going to be sitting home watching the super bowl because all pro or not they've underachieved again while the guys I mentioned that we could have drafted on the Chiefs

In Travis Kelsey and Chris Jones will be going to the super bowl again

I totally understand your point but let's not forget that Escobar is no longer with us, he lost his life in a hiking mishap a year or so ago.

Well heck, anybody should be able to tell if a draft pick is a bust before they draft them...

This is where Jerry wants to prove he's an NFL maverick. He feels he can uncover talent where other teams have written off. 28 years and counting. Same story.

We take more swings in the 2nd round, but don't think its really that bad when looking at the names on the list. You dont have high odds of finding multi time pro bowlers in the 2nd round we got 2. Another 4 players started games and made some plays during their short time here, 2 too soon to tells, and 2 bonofide busts.

Clear Hits:

No need for explanation

Diggs
Lawrence

Starters:

Started a number of games, were solid but not enough to earn a pay day here. They were each better with their new team, can't label them bad picks.

C. Williams
Awuize

Too Soon To Tell:
Williams has flashed talent, but has also had some untimely and costly penalities. Schoonmaker took a back seat to Ferg. Still time for these guys to improve.

Schoonmaker
Williams

Some contributions for short period:

Jaylon Smith remains a great football story and did contribute for a short period of time where it looked like he was coming on. Then the wheels fell off and became everyone's favorite player to call out. We all know Gregory's story, limited availability, flashed at times when on the field, but also some silly penalities. But still made contributions.

J. Smith
R. Gregory

Total Bust:

Not much to say other than these guys were true 2nd round busts for the team and didn't really have any contributions. I don't think either really loved or was committed to football and should always be a lesson on who to avoid.

2nd round picks are a major part of the core of your team. You could correctly conclude that our extreme ineptitude in the 2nd round is what cost us the playoff win. And this goes way back, Bruce Carter, Gavin Escobar, remember those guys?

We desperately need a GM to straighten this out.

You're being too nice. Gregory and Jaylon were busts, plain and simple. Williams should be playing a lot more by now. Schooner should've played more than he did.

I mean, if they were 4th or 5th round picks that would be acceptable. Not even close for 2nd round picks.
