Top 20 NFL Quarterback rankings: Intangibles make the best leaders

Palmer ahead of Ben? Please thaty is a JOKE and whoever wrote this should not have children. The steelers had next to no running game this season 24th in the NFL in rushing.... Ben did it all at key moments he makes plays.

list goes like this

1. Brady

2. Ben (and I hate him but he is 2nd best in the NFL)

3. Payton

4-20 who cares.

Top 20 quarterbacks:

QB's in blue are the only ones that can succeed behind our O-line.

1. Tom Brady, Patriots.

2. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers.

3. Peyton Manning, Colts.

4. Donovan McNabb, Eagles.

5. Kurt Warner, Cardinals.

6. Jay Cutler, Bears.

7. Tony Romo, Cowboys.

8. Eli Manning, Giants.

9. Drew Brees, Saints.

10. Joe Flacco, Ravens.

11. Philip Rivers, Chargers.

12. Matt Ryan, Falcons?

13. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks.

14. Carson Palmer, Bengals.

15. Jason Campbell, Commanders.

16. Matt Cassel, Chiefs.

17. Matt Schaub, Texans.

18. Jake Delhomme, Panthers.

19. Aaron Rodgers, Packers.

20. Chad Pennington, Dolphins.

I hate the Eagles but I admire McNabb and Westbrook a great deal. Name all the QBs in the last decade +/- a game or so who have as many conference championship or SB appearances and compare them. I wouldn't compare him to Peyton or Brady but the list is short.

Someone help me here.

He's not the most physically gifted but he knows how to play the game with his head.

Eli is a dang good QB. But he is not better than Romo.

Its even more obvious when the 2 play in the same game with each other.
I respectfully disagree.

Isn't it about time Palmer actually does something to justify these constant high rankings?

Palmer is way too high. He had one great year and another really good year, but he's had three pretty mediocre (or worse) seasons, too. He's had a winning record only one season out of five and is 32-33 for his career (and 0-1 in the playoffs).

I was thinking the same thing about Palmer. He's done virtually nothing in years. And even his good seasons have amounted to nothing. You expect more from a number one overall pick.

What kind of "intangibles" does Eli have, exactly? I've been trying to figure this out for awhile now, but he keeps surfacing on these things.

Eli has a great defense working for him.

I would put Rivers in Brees position. working with less I think he has done more. McFlabb is too high as well- I would put Warner over him.

Agreeded. McNabb has Reid as an apologist for him.

 I'm not sure I would call working with Antonio Gates, LaDamian Tomlinson, Vincent Jackson, Chris Chambers, Darren Sproles as "working with less".

10. Matt Ryan

I don't care to list the rest.

Just for perspective only, Big Ben and David Garrard (who was great in 2007 but so much in 2008) have about the same stats, but of course Ben has plenty of weapons and Garrard has had basically no WRs or OLine. They met once in the playoffs in 2007 and Garrard led his team to victory. Again, not saying DG is better at all...just some perspective.
Just saying, Ben had a great Super Bowl so he gets plenty of credit, but he has bascially been a bus driver for the Steelers.

And saying he is better than Manning has got to be the most ludicrous (football related) statement I have ever heard on this site.

1-P. Manning
2-Brady
3-Brees
4-Romo
5-Rivers
6-Warner
7-Cutler
8-Ben
9-Mcnabb
10-E Manning

3-5 could go in any order...IMO

Would you trade our respective players Romo has had at those positions for theirs? I wouldn't.

we know T.O. is better than Jackson but

you wouldnt trade LT for Barber?

Chambers for Crayton?

and I like Witten more but you cant go wrong with Witten or gates

Tomlinson was on his last legs last year, so no. Chambers had health issues, so it is a wash. Owens was better than both of their receivers. I happen to think Witten is much better than Gates. Rivers gets the "more with less" nod by a slim margin simply because he had an inferior OL and fewer weapons.

He was comparing Rivers to Brees, not Romo.

Right now?

Absolutely not.

Barbers got a lot more tread on the tires.

That would be as dumb as the Mavericks trading Devon Harris for Jason Kidd.

I dont have much faith in Rivers whatsoever. Norv Turner has more to do with that QB rating than Rivers does. When Norv leaves Rivers is going straight to the toilet.

i see what you did there.....:laugh1:

LT had a bad season last year, was nursing injuries and still had a better season than Barber....I love me some Barber but come on man LT is light years ahead of him.....and since we are comparing who did what with who..we are not talking about future we are talking about past and in the past Barber hasnt come close to LT
