Top Car Chases in Movie History

This chase in LA was crazier than any I’ve seen in movies. You can see the full chase on YouTube. The first link is the short version.

I don't really get into car chase scenes, but the two that come to mind are Smokey and the Bandit and Vanishing Point.
Vanishing Point for the win, 1970 440 R/T Challenger with the pistol grip 4-speed. Kowalski going coast to coast, hot little momma in the desert too on her bicycle. Have it on Blu-ray

I think that's the only movie I've ever seen, at the end of which I said, "Wow, that was a great car chase!"

The original Italian Job movie - the one with Michael Caine and Benny Hill.

Beverly Hills Cop II - Cement Truck Chase lol

never seen it .. i'm very limited and skeptic about Nicholas Cage movie films after The Rock ... Face Off ..and Con Air ...

They blew it featuring him as Johnny Blazes- Ghost Rider... which BTW should have been far better car chase oriented and created ... not to mentioned, flat overall created ...period !

Forgot about that one it was 27 years ago. However not sure that tank did any more damage than that RV..
That tank crushed over eight cars when it went into a neighborhood. The driver just got tired and gave up.

I just looked at the tank video again. He got hung up on a concrete center divide on the highway. That's how they caught him.

Am i thinking of something different, i thought the Police opened the hatch and shot him from the outside killing him. What's surprising is no one was injured/killed other than the perp.

You got it right. The police ended up opening up the hatch and shooting him to death. No way was a lunatic driving a tank going to surrender peacefully.

And Gene Hackman Popeye Doyle in the French Connection when he chases the elevated train in the streets of Brooklyn was great. The 70’s the golden era for movies
