Top "needs" on the roster

Bern was really good by the end of the season. He was finally healthy after having multiple injury issues in 2012 and another nagging type injury in the 2013 training camp.

The problem is that both Bern and Leary have injury histories and there are Zero backups at this point.

They tweaked the OL scheme to cover up Free's deficiencies. Those ratings were from PFF which has been shown to be near worthless.

I'm going to go out on a limb an guess that you probably have not spent much time reviewing footage of Parnell and Weems.

Do you have tape? lol

I like what the guy said a few posts up, we can use upgrades at nearly every position on this roster...

FWIW, xwalker puts a ton of time in evaluating tape on almost every player on the Cowboys roster. He does so without any fluff, also. I also agree that we need to upgrade several positions but if xwalker posts an opinion about a player on the roster then he's done his homework and if he hasn't he'll admit to it (you can also bet he'll get to work on it pretty quickly to give an informed opinion).

Just sayin, bro.

church is a strong safety and a good tackler..... dallas needs a free safety bad, Wilcox played well in PS and at times during the season... but we need that ball hawk in the secondary

I don't get how people can make these statements, you can't say a player showed potential in given playing time but it's t time to move on, he's a rookie. That's what they do.

I see too much potential to give up on Wilcox and randle. We need to invest in both lines and then evaluate them. We can't make excuses for Carr Morris and others but not our rookies, it's just not fair to me. I'd think more slack would be given to a rookie playing in a new scheme especially one who is in his 2nd year playing Fs.

No, don't get me wrong man. He's no expert in the field. He's just another poster on the board with an opinion. But, he's made the investment in all of the all 22 tape and a ton of time to actually try and give an honest and unbiased opinion on all of these guys. So, at the very least, his opinion is an educated one. He's a lot sharper about these players than 99.9% of the posters around here (or any other board for that matter). NeonDeion and PerceyHoward have some pretty good analytic chops, also.

Thanks for backing me up.

No problem, x. Your analysis on some of these guys is a big plus to this board, IMHO.

Thanks.

It seems that there's been more good football discussions recently. I attribute that to a few guys like you stepping up and keeping the focus on football over the other BS that gets posted.

Yes, I have the All-22 film.

I've watched every snap that Parnell and Weems have had with the Cowboys, including Preseason at least 10 times each. I also watched several games that Weems played in college and the snaps that he played with the Patriots during the 2012 preseason.

Dude, start your own blog, seriously!

You really want to give credit to the head honchos @ the ranch for the evaluation prowess? If you don't know by now, they created a "field" so that commoners like us can't feel included. The truth is, it's a crapshoot that they made us believe is a science. XWalker's anaylsis is more spot on than any coach or "commentator". Think for yourself! He beats all the comp in context. ;) He applies variables, etc to OUR situation, something no other analysts, "bother to do." XWalker is our media, bc it has become so lazy in DFW that they refuse to do critical analysis. I can't remember the last article out of DFW with "in depth" detail about the problems. Oh jeez, we coulda drafted better. Pay for the subscription?

Um no, I don't credit anybody. Much of our demise has been due to an unprecedented amount of injuries...

You'd like to believe in the Dallas Safeties..Church, JJ Wilcox ..Heath...Johnson...looks like a real need that should be adressed.

S has been undervalued since the Roy pick. JJ seems like a jealous gf towards that position:D Seriously though, he tried with Hamlin/Sensay but the love scorned thing is burning us right now.
