Torry Holt May Be Released

Why on earth would they release Holt, that doesnt make any sense? Im not buying it.

I'm skeptical as all hell myself but if they cannot find a trade partner and Linehan really doesn't like the guy, they might cut bait.

They aren't anywhere close to winning with, or without Torry Holt. At best that team is about 4-5 solid years of drafting and FA moves away from being able to compete. By the time they can compete Holt won't even be there.

If Linehan doesn't like the guy and has the ear of management enough, Holt could get released. Look what it took to get Matt Millen canned. Some people are just stupid and if Linehan kisses enough *** and can convince them that the team is better off without a guy, you never know.

Just another thing on this subject. I was watching ESPN earlier and Jackson was ripping the coaches for pulling Bulger in favor of Green. Why blow up the team because the players are not performing for a coach? I keep the 60 million dollar QB I just signed along with Holt and fire the coach. I would put Haslett in as the interim as well. I know he lost the team in New Orleans but the first couple of years he got production from Aaron Brooks and we all know how he turned out.

I forget who it was, but I believe it was Mort, who reported on ESPN radio that the previous owner (I can't think of her name) was very high on Linehan, and before she passed away, she asked her son, who runs the team now, to be patient with him and give him ample time.... Take it for what it's worth, I'm just passing along what Mort said a while back.

How long would it take Holt (or another high quality vet WR) to get in tune with the playbook and get on the field?

1)I dont believe the rams will release Holt and
Americas teams sig compares RW to Woody saying "two of a kind"
Not even close...

Trade for this guy before he is released. we get Holt to go with Owens, and no one can stop us.get it done Jerry.

Just would need to get the terminology down the most. But he'd need some time to get in sync with Tony. Holt could probably produce at least by playoff time. Likely sooner. He's a pros pro.

WOW! Thanks for that? UM are you really Coakley's Dad? Not even close!

If we get Holt. what you saw happen to Owens against Greenbay would never happen again. we are another impact reciever away from dominating the NFL. if we can get Holt, let's do it now.

Folks....we don't need to have every free agent WR... we have all we need to win a Super Bowl, it's up to the players and coaches now to find it inside themselves to get it done. The Cowboys run the risk of losing chemistry by continually adding "all stars". I love Tory Holt too but cmon... it's not like Patrick and Miles haven't been making plays... chill.

Crayton has 8 catches on the year as our #2. I would not exactly be thrilled with that, but maybe that is just me.

I figure right now we are ready for the super bowl (Specially with the Patriots possibly out of the picture) and if we could make a move like this, then make it. I dont think Holt would cause a problem chemistry wise, as he probably wants to win. Miles and Patrick haven't been bad (Miles has been pretty good though) but I dont know if I trust them just yet to help lead us to a super bowl.

And if Owens went down, we would really be wishing we had made a move for a guy like this.

Thats my two cents on it.

I don't believe Holt will become available. But any team in the league would be thrilled to have him. He wouldn't be just another FA. I don't see it happening but Jerry would be all over it if it did happen.

Yeah, we can win a SB with the players here. But we would truly be unstoppable with a Holt opposite TO.

Wrong!anytime you can upgrade you do it. the Green bay game showed that Crayton is not the answer. you cant have your number two reciever with only 8 catches in 3 games. and none against Green bay.

after benching Bulger and pissing off Jackson.......I think if Linehan would be the one getting released if he tries to cut Holt.........this is one ridiculous coach..........."we suck so lets get rid of our best players"

Didn't Carolina already cut Terrance Holt? It may be home, but I don't think his brother is there though...

I don't expect him to get released though. If he does, I would be all over it.

They can find a trade partner if Jason Tayor can draw a draft pick Holt can to we got a 7th round pick for an old dt coming of a bicep tear.

Please Jerry would give them at least a 4th rounder and thrown in a Stanback or a DB like Ball

Come on we are talking about a wr that can still produce

I believe Holt to still be a top 5 WR on the right team....but i still dont think its gonna happen like that..

I think they would fire the coach before getting rid of Holt. Might be cheaper actually....

To steal a line from Jerry and Stephen...

"If you have a chance to upgrade the talent on your team, I think you have to take a significant look at it"

If we can land him for a mid/late round pick, get it done.

Dude is not washed up he just needs to play in a winning atmosphere. He is still a top WR in this league.

We have a pretty tough playbook but Torry Holt is one of the best in the league is a great Professional.

I imagine we could get him on the field by his 2nd week. As far as having him comfortable with the playbook it may take 4 or 5 weeks.

Its a possibility he could screw up the chemistry short term but long term he would put us over the top.

He is one of the best route runners in the game with Great hands.
