Has anyone heard if Torry Holt has been released by the Rams? Do you think that Jerry Jones will pursue him?

Believe me when or if Holt gets released you will see at least 10 post post, saying Holt was released and should we pick him up... Holt will be released by Sat.

Should we pick him up? y mine guess their will be alot of teams looking for his services unlike Marvin Harrison.... I bet he will get at least 3 years 18mil from a team.... TO got 6.5 for one year, Holt will basically recieve same contract, just for more years.

T.O got $6.5 Million for 1 year because he had almost 1,100 yards and 10 TD's. Holt almost 800 yards and 3 TD's. $6.5 million a season isn't even top 5 WR money in the NFL. T.O does have our signing bonus though. Holt would take 2 years $5 million and might get less. I heard Indy and as usual us, are interested. It makes sense for both teams at the right price.

Everyone needs top notch corners but Chris McCallister is still sitting around. He's no older than Holt and played extremely well last year. Teams aren't paying the older guys. Holt won't be overly expensive and if he gets a shot to work with a top tier QB and go after a SB even more so.

If you listened to Jerry on the Fan yesterday, he basically said the reason for cutting TO was to give the younger players a chance to contribute.

He specifically mentioned Miles Austin and how he is going to get a chance to really step up this season.

So my interpretation is that we are not going to be signing Holt or any other FA WRs, we are going to go with Roy Williams and Miles Austin as starters and spread the ball to the other WRs and RBs (Jerry mentioned how great a WR Marion Barber is and how we need to take advantage of that next year).

So you guys having wet dreams over Holt need to go take a cold shower because it aint happenning.

On a similar note, what do you think the Cowboys will do with TO? I've heard ramblings about him leaving, I wonder what you guys all think... [/sarcasm]

No, no one is having wet dreams over this guy. Just asking a question, but nothing against our young recievers, but you need an experienced veteran to show our guys the ropes. Torry is only 32 years old that is still fairly young. Now lets take a look at our recievers:

Roy Williams - our only true threat that is if he can stay healthy and can vibe with Romo during training camp.

Sam Hurd - coming off of an injury hopefully it has healed to 100% could be a threat with more guidance

Isaiah Stanback - has been hurt since he has been in Dallas and oh by the way transitioned from QB to WR.

Miles Austin - Did an outstanding job, but got injured hopefully he is back to 100% could be a threat with more guidance

Travis Wilson - haven't really heard of the guy but must make the team first and then vibe with Romo during training camp

Paris Warren - coming from the Arena Football league (Dallas Desparados), needs time to adjust to NFL

Patrick Crayton - good reciever but is not a threat or the answer.

So you do the math two of these recievers have 5 years of experience the others are less than 5 years. Do you really think this corp of recievers can to it for Dallas? No I don't think that they can. All I'm saying is an experienced veteran like Torry Holt could be an excellent addition.

He'll be cut probably in the next few days, and I think the Cowboys will be one the primary interested teams.

How many "Jerry says TO is staying" threads did we have?

Exactly, what I was going to say but you said it better BfE. JJ is adamant that Miles be given the chance to fully develop. He's not going to bring in a vet that going to take snaps away from Miles. Miles is our #2 WR folks. Now, he'll go after a rookie WR that can start on special teams and be a dynamic slot WR in the draft. That player is Derrick Williams WR Penn St. He's an explosive KR & PR, and he could become an electrifying slot WR. If he runs a 4.4 40 during Penn St's pro day, he'll go at the top/middle of round 2. JJ wants 2 things this season. 1) The unencumbered development of Miles Austin, and 2) The for Romo to have a great year. He's going to make sure Tony has all the weapons at his disposal that he needs to excel.
