Trade Bait

Every week on here is another trade proposal thread. How often do trades happen (besides pick moving on draft days)? One trade every 2 or 3 seasons? They are so rare. Why even think about them until they happen?

Everyone always wants to raid the cabinets until the cabinets grow bare. As in injuries. If I'm GM next season I'm gonna still try to keep Gallop and others. Per you are here until Jerry finds someone better. Never trade away you are here until you find better. I think you can find better in next years draft then make a trade. Versus trading away assets we may need later in the season. But that being said.....They offer me Aaron Donald for something we could stand to lose???:yourock:
people just don't like prosperity. specially around here....before we had no WR, no depth, no depth at OL, etc....now that we do and team is doing well, they want to trade all of it away....

If I had anyone in particular in mind, I would have named one. Any good CB who's available would suit me fine.
ok its all hypothetical. there has to be a target in mind, for a team that has a need for the players we have.....as Parcells used to say, there is no 1-800-Player number to call to get a player your want....

nothing you said made sense.

you assumed Steele is better than Collins, where all other facts point the other way.
you said Collins shenanigans last year...when he was injured.
if you think his shennanigans this year for being wrongfully suspended for that matter, then shall we throw Gregory in the same boat? given his shennanigans have been far worse.
you named these four Nsekhe, Knight, Farniok, and Ball. as good replacements in case of injury to collins, steele, smith or anybody else on the OL....sorry, with those in the game, Dak and zeke get killed. none and I mean NONE of those have done anything in the NFL to distinguish themselves in any way even as an average starter in this league.....

seems like you just don't like collins, play madden football and infatuated with draft picks....

if in your mind, a poster on a message board, thinks steele is better than collins, and we know steele ain't all that, then who would pay a 1st for collins.....that's madden football....or even fantasy football...

sorry, you lost your argument 7 pages ago....good luck in your fantasy league

Nothing I wrote made any sense to you? Ha ha. There is a very good reason for that. I’ll let you try to figure it out. Maybe you didn’t actually read it. Otherwise, only one other reason.

We still need experienced depth heading into December and January. We’ve already moved on from a defensive player who was receiving significant snaps, we can’t move on from two other players who are starters. As the season goes on we could suffer injuries and be down to our fourth and fifth players at those positions. We have an opportunity to do something special this season and it would be stupid to deplete a really good football team of talent heading into the second half of the season. It has me rolling my eyes how many fans want to unload good players during what could be a Super Bowl run for us this season.

Who was the one who said last year Steele was going to be good? That would be me and not you. So sorry. You lose, again.
OMG, you made a great guess...on one player and now you call yourself an OL guru!!! woo hooo.....I bet you made another 100 guesses on who would be good and missed and now you are thumping your chest for the one that you got lucky on, but lets forget the other 99.

come on dude......we all can make guesses....

you know I said parsons was going to be good, I clamoured for him before the draft....I said schultz was going to be a very good TE for a few years now.. and I really liked Cedrick Wilson from day 1...and I loved Osa...I knew he was going to be really good.I guess I should clamour for Will McClay's job.

Gallup is better than Wilson. Collins is better than Steele. Collins has also had some injuries.

Even if Steele has closed the gap enough to satisfy the coaches, Collins better than Williams at Guard.

Don't trade anyone. Maximize the talent and depth and make a run.

nah, nonsense never makes sense..

like I said, go back to your madden NFL and make a few more trades....it works out better there...make sure you change the ratings for Nsekhe, Knight, Farniok, and Ball so they become great OL men in your fantasy Madden league

LOL...........a few games holding his own and all of a sudden Steele is better than Collins. After getting embarrassed all of last year.
I know tell me about it.....the new madden NFL generation. they probably put him on their team and changed the ratings or somethign

Good luck with that -- the only one I might have suggested would have been Stephon Gilmore, who, so sadly, happens to be a Panther now.
Maybe the Cowboys FO could answer that. Even Google doesn't have anyone else to suggest. Like the Tuna said, they don't grow on trees.
Actually, Kelvin Joseph might be our best bet, whenever he gets back onto the active list. Hopefully, he might be a better option than Brown.

We would be crazy to trade them away unless we can get something good in return. Gallup I would want a top 10 2nd round pick, otherwise he may get a contract next year that will get us a 3rd round comp and considering were making a run we could use him this year. For Collins, he can play LG and still man the RT spot and OL are huge bonuses for us right now so I would not want to get rid of him one bit.
that's not realistic to get for Gallup....top 10 2nd round picks are usually for bad teams. no bad team is going to trade for a WR that will be around 8,9 games and then demand tons of money. so if anything its either a low second and at best a low first for some contending team that wants to make a run....low second would be a bad trade, given he will have more value to us this season, given that he will probably leave via FA and get a nice large contract that will net us a 3rd......so Gallup for this season, just so we drop one round....I keep gallup. a low first I may consider...I may...

I must have touched a nerve for you to get so defensive for me calling out your *********.....but I call out stupid when I see it. its a bad habit. can't help myself. no offense meant LOL

You seem butthurt. Take a little nap and you might feel better.
when somebody starts to throw insults, its a sign they feel they lost the argument so they want to divert and change the conversation and make it confrontational because they don't have a chance to win....

when did you feel like you lost this argument?

Posters have an inflated sense of value for Cowboys. Collins for whatever reason has little track record on the field last 1 and 1/2 yrs.

Gallup coming off a lower body issue which a talented receiver needs to ply his craft . Sure he will recover but what trade value does Gallup have today.

Then it’s a matter of contracts and salary caps among teams . Not as easy as flipping baseball cards .

Say you get a 1st round offer for Collins right now. Say you refuse it and Collins gets injured and is out for the year. Definitely should have taken the offer.

These are the decisions GMs make. A lot of gambles and hunches. There are times to play it safe and times to gamble.

A first rounder for Collins after missing 2019 with injury and now finishing off of a five game suspension? They had best jump on it before the other team fires said GM. ;)

If we could get a 1st for Collins before the deadline, any reason we couldn't do the same in the spring? Also, if I somehow got a 1st for Collins, I would trade down that first to 2 - 2nds (or a 1st and a 3ed) for Oline depth and future prospects.

Cool beans since we signed him as a rookie UDFA.
