Throw in Dak and a couple of 1sts, so that our division leaders WFT dont get him. Something like the Rams did for Stafford so that 49ers dont get him.

Other option is get Brady on our team so that he doesnt distance himself from other teams in super bowl count. Since our ceiling would be NFC CG.

You come across as a Prescott hater that has played to much Madden football and fantasy football First off this whole Wilson trade crap started because Jason La Canfora completely speculated that because Wilson made a comment and then Seattle management said something that he added 2 + 2 and came up with 5 and then the rest of the sportswriters jump on this for clicks. He completely forgot that Wilson made similar comments in 2018 and what happened, Wilson signed a new contract that oh by the way has a no trade clause in it. Then he was very involved this off season just last month in the hiring of the new OC that he then said he was looking forward to working with him. Lastly if Seattle does deal him it will put 39 mil on their dead money and with a smaller cap that will completely cripple them. Right now with Wilson the seahawks have 4.9 mil if they trade him they will be 34 mil in the hole.

Using big letters doesn't make your opinion more valid. It probably won't happen but the reasons you are giving are some of the least likely ones. This notion that Dak will settle for less because he loves the Cowboys should've been dispelled last year.

I didn't think this needed explained, especially since it is explained in the link, but any trade of Dak would involve him agreeing to a new contract with the other team.

As for passing a physical, if he can't pass one then all of this is moot. Other than one thread on this board there hasn't been anything to suggest his leg won't heal.
What...you think just because you attach a link everyone's going to read it? You didn't start the thread, so I didn't click your link.

Anyone else concerned how Wilson started the year looking like the NFL MVP, only to fall off big time in mid November?

Nope, he had no running game and his Oline was in shambles and still look his team to the playoffs unlike a certain QB who cant function well without a near perfect offense around him.

i have to be honest.
if you tell me Dak will not be our starting QB.
that his time here is done.
that they will not come together and get a deal done.
THIS MOVE......is the only way i accept that.

Pay tons of draft capital to swap for a QB who's 8 years older and making the kind of money that everyone here INSISTS will cripple the team? Lol no.

Also just wait until Wilson starts demanding more money than the $38m a year he's due to make, because he will very soon.

I just don't understand any logic to this. Is Wilson better? Marginally....with a decline coming fast in his late 30's. Can he fix the terrible defense? No. The Cowboys are not 2020 Tampa Bay, with a loaded roster and just needing a decent QB.

Think before you post these ideas guys.
That’s a great post.

this is by far the dumbest post...throw a couple of first. I guess you dont' value first round picks.the same picks you need to fix the defense.....oh, so Wilson makes less money on his contract....great....you saved $7M on the cap, go build a defense with $7M extra on the cap. lets sign more Poe's and Worley's and build us a great defense...

Wilson hasn't done anything but get his team to playoffs and lose. without a defense he has been unable to make a run. he is 31. and his contract ends in 2023. his cap hit in 21 is 32.....but in 2022 and 2023 is 37 and 39...the same numbers you bulk at.....

its not about keeping him away from the competition...its about getting your team to be better..... how does that exactly make us better? its not about beating WFT...its about going to playoffs and making a run. when you don't have the cap (well, maybe $4 or $5M) and no first round picks how are you suppose to be better.

dumb dumb dumb

For all the Dak haters out there, there are very, very few ways in which this organization can get rid of Dak and still get better. Everybody wants to get rid of Dak, but nobody has a clue on what to do after getting rid of him. Getting Wilson is one of those very few ways to improve this team. It's a pipe dream, but just about every way to get better without Dak is a pipe dream.
so giving up two valuable first round picks is going to make the team better....awsome plan....

I approve this message, especially if that rumor of a Dak $40 million asking price is close to accurate.
wilson is slated to make 32, 37, 39 over the next three years.....so you are saying that with $8M, $3M, $1M extra and not having 2 first round picks. somehow that's better for the team and you are going to sign a couple of really dominant defensive players in FA...and get a 31 year old QB.....

What makes you think the Seahawks want to trade Wilson for Dak at essentially the same salary? It would be stupid for Dallas to give up those picks as well. I would hold on to Wilson and pick up a couple pieces for the OL to make him happy if I was Seattle.

Brady wants to win, so that knocks Dallas out of the box. I guarantee he doesn't have the time or desire to work through a rebuild, reload, retool, whatever it is they are doing at the Star.
When Brady decided it was time to leave New England, he did his homework on where he wanted to go to continue his playing career.
Dallas was never on his radar --generally because of the Cowboys change (new coaching staff), then specifically because of the situation with Prescott.

I've heard several posters put out ideas on that subject. I don't think it's fair to say that nobody has a clue.

He gains more leverage each day. At most, the Cowboys tag him one more time. A third tag would be cost-prohibitive. So either he gets what he wants or he's a free agent in 2022.

If Jerry and Stephen want to keep him then they screwed the pooch by letting it drag this long. I say the chances of them having a viable Plan B are not high. QB hasn't exactly been their area of expertise.

How do you know it was Jerry and Stephen and not Dak and his agent just not wanting to sign a deal?

I may be projecting, but I think Dak is asking to be overpaid or released. I could see him taking less to play for a better-run organization.

That is not projecting, that is fantasizing. Not even in your wildest hallucinations, would that ever happen. First of all, Dak will get no offers from any team UNTIL he can pass a physical. Ask yourself when can he realistically pass a full physical where he can run, cut, and throw. It is definitely not going to be before FA begins in about a month. That is for sure. It is most likely not before the draft. According to 'sources (have no idea who they are), 'Dak just had surgery on the deltoid ligament of his dislocated ankle in early Dec. Read up on ankle deltoid surgery. Maybe Dak will be able to pass a physical before camp. That is a big maybe. Who knows. Dak might even be on PUP for the first 6 weeks. Teams will have finalized their rosters by the time Dak will be healthy. Teams will have drafted QBs and signed FA QBs.

Teams are not going to offer an injured Dak a $35-40M/year, $110M guaranteed, 5-year contract. Not happening. The only team that will offer Dak anything in the next 8 months is the Cowboys. Jerry may offer Dak a huge contract out of loyalty. Sometimes Jerry is loyal to a fault.

By the way, Dak was not 1-3 (actually 0-4 if not for a watermelon squib kick) to start the season with weapons like Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, and Zeke. Two of the games were against the worst defensive teams in the league (Seattle and Atlanta).

So what happens to the Dak haters if Dak moves on and Wilson comes here and fails, as where Dak wins a SB with another team?
Will they now become a Wilson hater and say trade him for Dak?
:lmao2:

But what happens, if Wilson wins us a SB and Dak doesn't get past a divisional game....works both ways to be fair...oh, the endless I told you so threads. :muttley:
Cowboys ain't goin to the SB as long as a Jones runs the team no matter who is QB and I won't live to see the day when they're gone and we can win a SB again. :( We're not a team under Jerry. We're a bunch of "I think I'm a star" jokers. Individuals - not a team - including our primmadonna RB and QB and some circus clowns named Jaylon and Jerry. :D SO yeah Dak could very well go elsewhere and win a SB with another team.

As much as I think Wilson is better than Dak I would prefer Dallas draft a 6-5 big arm QB with pedigree. None of this 4th, 5th or 6th round garbage they have been toying with.
Get some top first round talent.
