Trade for Russell Wilson

So what happens to the Dak haters if Dak moves on and Wilson comes here and fails, as where Dak wins a SB with another team?
Will they now become a Wilson hater and say trade him for Dak?
:lmao2:

But what happens, if Wilson wins us a SB and Dak doesn't get past a divisional game....works both ways to be fair...oh, the endless I told you so threads. :muttley:
You are embarrassing in your Dak devotion. CUT IT OUT, MISLED DAKITE!

Nobody hates Dak.
He isn't worth $42,000,000.00+
.
Stop feeling sorry for Dak. He'll be fine. He has more money than he know what to do with already.
Now it's 42 million? Wow........a new level of narrative.

You go, girl.

Too bad you aren't smart enough to know that Brady had the 4th highest cap hip of all qbs in the nfl..may want to educate yourself before you embarrass yourself...too late now

I've mentioned this before and no one seemed to really address it. Just shows it's possible to have a great defense and a highly paid qb.

I wasn't arguing anything about Brady's cap hit. You can pay Brady all you want, but the defense won that game and you know it. Will at least i THINK you are smart enough to know it.

(Oh great...we're resorting to immature playground insults instead of adult conversation. Cool)

Throw in Dak and a couple of 1sts, so that our division leaders WFT dont get him. Something like the Rams did for Stafford so that 49ers dont get him.

Other option is get Brady on our team so that he doesnt distance himself from other teams in super bowl count. Since our ceiling would be NFC CG.

Dak plus a couple of firsts? No thank you. That's the Joey Galloway trade, quarterback version. This team needs to build a good defense. Good luck doing that with two years in a row of no first round pick. Is Wilson that much better than Dak? I think not. Plus, he's older.

I’d do that deal. Trouble is trading a tagged Dak can be dicey.
i think both would approve that trade, at least my guts says so..both get fresh start on teams with potential, and both teams getting solid players..its all hyperbole and io doubt rogers, wilson, or watson get traded and undreatnd the owners for not doing so,they are their property by binding legal contracts they gave them tons of bonus money and big salaries and will keep them and the players either play or sit and lose millions..

id make stand as an owners and stat telling these players NO we made deal, i expect you to carry it through..especially Watson just took the big bonus money and after one season wants trade..no way im doing that IF i were an owner. ..

if the player truly wanted out would they pay back the 40-60mil in bonus money that would be dead cap to their current teams out of their own pockets to get out? bet NOT, so no!

I see this as part of the issue around this discussion of QB. A QB can effect a Defenses a great deal, through his play. A QB like Marino wore his defenses out because of the style of his play. a guy like Simms saved his Defense a lot of the time with his style of QB play. It's all related, it isn't offense and defense and completely separate. I think that's one or our teams big disconnects, to be honest. It's all related, one side effects the other greatly and I think Tampa Bay and Brady were just another example of that, this last season.

Pay tons of draft capital to swap for a QB who's 8 years older and making the kind of money that everyone here INSISTS will cripple the team? Lol no.

Also just wait until Wilson starts demanding more money than the $38m a year he's due to make, because he will very soon.

I just don't understand any logic to this. Is Wilson better? Marginally....with a decline coming fast in his late 30's. Can he fix the terrible defense? No. The Cowboys are not 2020 Tampa Bay, with a loaded roster and just needing a decent QB.

Think before you post these ideas guys.

1. Dak will be 28 when the season begins.
2. Wilson will be 33 in November.
3. Wilson after any trade total salary/cap hit becomes:
2021: 19mil
2022: 24mil
2023: 26mil
Of course he may want to redo his deal, but as it stands now, his contract post trade is extremely low. PS, those numbers are the actual salary(paid out) numbers he would be making with Seattle moving forward if he stays. He got a monster signing bonus which has all been paid out by now. So, his real money for the next 3 years is the above.
4. Once again he's 32, late 30's is 3+ years away.

Seattle is an overall better team than Dallas. From coaching on down. Russell had insane numbers last year, but I don't think the gap between he, and Prescott would push us to a Superbowl. I just don't believe it would be a good decision regardless of how much I love Wilson. I live in Washington.

If this trade presents itself, go for it, IMO. It's more likely that an elite qb will get back to the Super Bowl than that any particular one good quarterback will turn into a great one.

Elway took three undermanned and underclassed teams to the Super Bowl. They didn't win, but he got them there.

Only Wilt Chamberlains exploits of carrying his team on his back are comparable to what Elway did in the 80’s. He single handily carried those 3 teams to the SB. And you could murder the QB back then too.
Comparing Dak to Elway is laughable.

Hand over your crack. I wants it.

Speaking of which...

The Seahawks somehow manage to replace one top-10 quarterback with another. Jones gets a quarterback who has accomplished the only goal he cares about at this point. And Wilson gets to begin a new chapter of his career in the highest-profile gig in all of the NFL.

It's about as close to a win-win as deals like this get.

NFL Teams Who Should Be Calling the Seahawks About Russell Wilson

Many forget that Wilson won that super bowl with one of the best defenses in nfl history and a bruising running game. Don’t think any defense has given up fewer points than that Hawks D in the last 15 years.

Most will pile on you for this bold move, but not this fan.
I applaud you for taking the bold approach, and not being scared to throw that first punch.
RW would instantly make CD a randy Moss, RW would survive and thrive and escalate this offense even without an OL,,, man is used to it.

RW is also used to having top 10 defenses and won a super bowl with one of the best defenses in NFL history.

Oh I do agree with that. IMO it's what made 2016 successful. I don;t see how you can look at it any other way. A qb and a ground game can absolutely destroy opposing defense and protect it's own.

Agreed on every point and I used to be a Seahawks season ticket holder. Not because I love the Seahawks but because when I first moved here from MT season tix were $110 for the ENTIRE SEASON. Wilson is great but like many posters have said we’re gonna need a semblance of a good D to win with ANY QB. We’re gonna need draft picks to accomplish that because we sure as hell don’t have the cap space to pick up any top shelf free agents.
