Why does everyone body else think other teams would want our players, unless its desperation, i dont see it.

I think Det would be interested although I don't think they'd eventually do it. Fairley doesn't like them and vice versa.

I'd rather wait and pay him in free agency rather than give up significant assets and pay him in free agency. He is already leaving. We are in a tough position with Mo for the first four weeks. Ask me again after Scandrick is activated. Trade deadline is after week 8.

Yeah, assuming both Fairley and Claiborne have a good year in '14, Mo would resign with Dallas in a heartbeat and Fairley would still be gone from Detroit. They know they're going to lose him after this year, so they want to try to salvage something for him. It isn't going to happen.

1. Our offense is not in rebuild mode. We've got a huge investment there and some guys closing in on their final years. We are all in on O.

Yeah, I was talking about the defense. In particular the defensive line because I was responding to someone talking about adding Fairley to the DL.

2. If the D can be 22nd overall or better, the O can carry us.

I agree as long as Romo stays healthy. The offense is going to be beastly IMO. That OL is something else.

3. Totally agree on Mo.

Yeah, he's looking like a different guy so far. I think something clicked for him plus he got stronger finally.

4. We aren't getting Fairley.

Nope, we aren't. Unless they give him away (which they won't), I don't think anyone will trade for him... much less a Dallas team that specifically said they don't want to bring in high priced players from other teams and would rather go with home grown talent.

I would turn my attention to Derrick Morgan of the Titans whose a bad fit in there new scheme. Guy had 6.5 sacks a year ago and still only 25ish.

Not a bad idea, but again, Dallas isn't going to spend much (either in picks or actual money) to bring in other team's players. Maybe Morgan wouldn't cost too much and Dallas takes a look, but I still don't see it happening... even though it was a solid enough idea from you.

If I was suddenly anointed GM, I would explore minor trades for JAX DL Tyson Alualu (has fallen to 2nd team on the depth chart), JAX LB Allen Bradford (played well in Seahawks system but stuck behind Paul Posluszny in Jacksonville), and TB DL William Gholston (back up). All 3 could possibly be had for mid-to-late picks. I'd also try to move Jermey Parnell to a team desperate for OL help. It would send a message to the underachieving defense and I think all 3 could help the team.

Alualu would compete with Nick Hayden and Terrell McClain or the 1-TECH spot.
Bradford would compete for the MIKE or SAM spot,
Gholston would compete for the LDE spot, possibly pushing Selvie over to RDE.

I dislike these threads. Kinda of a waste of time. But appreciate the attempt.

That's like trading an A for a B, don't see the value...

I like this scenario and would almost make Mo an offer now. He may jump at a hometown deal that would take the pressure off. I think he can be a good CB and locking him up way below market value could be a savvy move. Fairley could still be had in FA or a similar DT could be drafted early.

I would rather just build thru the draft.... This season could be a tough one to get thru but in the end results could be a top 5 pick and that would do a lot to improve this team.....just think if Khalil Mack was a Cowboy.....

It'd be just a bit premature to divest ourselves of Mo right now when he's seemingly on the verge of redeeming himself. Detroit probably wants to rid itself of Fairley because he's not so much a team guy. Claiborne might surprise this year. I think I'd wait to see if Mo is able to turn things around before giving up on him. He's worked his tail off in the offseason to get stronger. Patience might turn out to be what he requires more than anything else. If he improves his game this year, we just might all be glad to have him around.

I wouldn't make the trade because its very possible he becomes a FA and we can get him then and still have Claiborne.

I just don't get the hate on Claiborne, from the way some of you "fans"talk you would think Claiborne has been in the league 8 years. He is just starting his 3rd year.

I remember the same was said about Dez and Murray
