trade the Boys#1 for Carr?

i know im probably gonna killed for this but, no ones brought it up, trade our pick @ 18 for a guy who knows nothing about baseball(lol).A player who has seen the worst o-line in the business and maybe something transpires. He has an arm, young for the future, and he wont have to move very far.

Now we know that Jerry Jones actually does post here.

I think Houston has an option they have to pick up on Carr. Something like $8 million. He is technically a FA this year.

If they invest a first round SB on a QB, do they pick up his option as well?

In other words, no, I wouldn't trade for him. I might consider him if he was a street free agent.

As bad as Houston has been the last two years, his last QB ratings were 77.2 and 85.3, with 60+% completions. This is a few percentage points better than Drew Bledsoe and a greater percentage of completions........He can also run and he is only 26. I would give a 2 or 3rd in a heartbeat for this guy, he has a rifle for an arm.

hes 27 by next year. Do you really think he would start over Bledsoe? Probably not until 2008 at least when he will be 29.

Yeah but that wasnt an expansion team Troy was starting for either. Had it been, it may have very well been 4 demoralizing years.

And Troy has even said himself that there were times when he felt that it could have taken him 5 years in the league before he got "it".

The 2002 Texans were MUCH better than the 1989 Cowboys. For a #3, I might think about it. But NOT for a #1.

You think a 1-15 team is better than an expansion team that had at least 3-4 Pro Bowlers on their roster and numerous extra draft picks?

I would make this trade in a Heartbeat.

I was just informed that he will be 27 next year, which is a year younger than me, so I think that may be a tad bit old.

I think the kid still has skills and if you check his numbers, they are not all that bad. Heck, the guy owns the record for most times sacked...that's gotta say something about his offensive line.

It is very unrealistic and Madden-ese though, because Bledsoe is signed for what...2 more years....nah, I would rather get a 22-23 year old in the Draft...Young, Culter, or Leinhart.....hell, I will even take Reggie Mcneal

He will be solid on another team. I've already heard that the Texans aren't going to pick up the option on Carr. They may be going after Vince Young. I think he can be a good player in the right scheme, and I would have liked him a year or two ago, for a 2nd or 3rd, but I'd like to see Bledsoe get a little more time to try and finish his career as a super bowl champion.

I would not give more than a 3rd for him and not even sure I would do that at this point.

No more than a late 2.. No OLine, he's making a lateral move.

With the way our second rounders have been panning out the last few years, we might as well offer a second. It's not like we're going to get any production from the pick anyway.

IMO, any team would be insane to trade a pick -- especially a high one -- for Carr.

Now, if he's released, I'd be open to bringing him as a backup and a potential replacement for Bledsoe. I think he's nearing the "ruined" point, but isn't quite there and does have a heck of an arm, solid attitude (though verging on cocky, minus the results), and is mobile.

I can't imagine a team trading a first for him, though. How many teams could he even start on?

Hey Dale......I agree with you .....1st rd 18th pick better go on a rookie stud something.....Go Cowboys

Our O line is a little better and certainly we have a better chance of improving ours.
they have shown no sign of improvement for 4 years. So he would have better protection here. How much damage all those hits - that is another story. BUT he has missed very few games, if any, that I can recall, so he is very tough. Something to think about.

Yeah, I think it's due March 1st. So by March 2nd we will know if the Texans are going to keep him or not.
My gut tells me he is staying and they are drafting Reggie Bush when he declares.

Who would the Texans have then....
This would only happen if the went QB in the draft.

But Troy never had four demoralizing years to start his career. :)

Thank God we had the Walker Trade so Troy did not have to play on such a poor team as Carr is currently playing with in Houston. That 1 trade made such a big differance for the Cowboys

Houston was given a ton of extra draft picks to get the franchise started and they have done a poor job of using them.

If we make a trade using our #1 pick I say put enough with it to get Vince Young and let him learn behind Bledsoe. Let Houston keep Carr and take Bush.

I think Vince is gonna be that good, good enough to be worth a trade to get him.

However I would be shocked if the Cowboys did that, but a happy shocked!
