Jets have ZERO options at QB right now. Neither Smith or Vick are cutting it.

Weeden is former #1 pick and is backup for top 3 offense in league. Cowboys need some talent at pass rusher. Coples is a former #1 pick and is a rotation OLB.

Quinton Coples for Brandon Weeden. At 270, Coples is more suited to 4-3 end than 4-3 OLB, both players could use an opportunity for a new start. Even better, both guys have very cap friendly salaries this season.

Would love to have Coples, but we'd have to include a 2nd or 3rd rounder to pull that off.
Weeden has very close to no value.
Yes, fully agree that Coples would be a DE.

Bat, I agree with your assessment that Coples is more suited as a DE in the 4-3 but my concern would be the depth at QB if that trade occurred.

I don't think Dustin Vaughn will cut it quite yet as the primary back-up. And I don't think right now the rest of the NFL sees Weeden as more than a back-up. Coples still has at least some production this year albeit not what you'd expect from a first rounder, so I think it'd still be a little uneven. It won't happen.

If this trade happens we finally know Rex is trying to get fired.

Rex is dead man coaching at this point.

The entire coaching staff and probably some of the front office will be fired.

The Jets have the Chiefs, Stealers, Bills and Dolphins the next 4 weeks. Peyton Manning might be able to help the Jets squeak out one victory in that stretch. Might being the operative word.

The Jets are staring at 1-11. What exacly would a trade do for them at this point? Put a fork in them. They are done. And no, Vaughn is not ready to assume the helm in case of injury. Not this year and most likely not next year either.
