The Jets have the Chiefs, Stealers, Bills and Dolphins the next 4 weeks. Peyton Manning might be able to help the Jets squeak out one victory in that stretch. Might being the operative word.

The Jets are staring at 1-11. What exacly would a trade do for them at this point? Put a fork in them. They are done. And no, Vaughn is not ready to assume the helm in case of injury. Not this year and most likely not next year either.
Not that they would do this trade, but their GM is probably desperate and would make a bad trade if he thought it would help them this season.

Well pooling my information from the franchise mode on NFL 2k5. Best football game of all time.

Madden is a terrible franchise.

It has it's drawbacks admittedly, but I'll stick with Madden just the same. Connected Careers online franchise mode has taken Madden to another level.

Okay and what do we do about a backup? You don't go 6-1 and trade your backup away. And if i'm the Jets why would I want Weeden? I have two qb's of his caliber already on my roster. Weeden can't do any better with those crap of receivers.

I doubt the owner will let the GM or coach do any other deals, especially after the Percy Harvin fiasco. The Jets are staring at 1-11. There is no hope for teams in that situation other than losing and getting better draft position. Anyway, it would take a QB half a season just to get somewhat comfortable in a new system.

They need to clean that thing out from the top all the way down.

Exactly.

But it's not a team devoid of talent. The offensive and defensive lines both have talent. They have some running game.

Give them some secondary help and a QB who isn't horrible and you could be looking at a playoff contender come next season.

Can you imagine the shyte-storm Rex would have to endure from the press if he traded for Weeden? lol

They wouldn't.

Their season is over with.

At this point it's lose baby lose and go for draft position in order to draft a QB very early in round 1.

That might be what the GM wants to do but the head coach is fighting for his job. He has no next year at this rate.

Would love to have Coples, but we'd have to include a 2nd or 3rd rounder to pull that off.
Weeden has very close to no value.
Yes, fully agree that Coples would be a DE.

I agree. Weeden has no value.

And to add to this point, Weeden is better than Dustin Vaughan.

Right. That's the biggest thing of it at all. Vick and Geno are better than Weeden and all 3 are superior to Vaughn so why on earth would the Cowboys who actually are in a playoff hunt get rid of their backup? Sure, you can say "Well without Romo we're done...."but the Cowboys are a few wins away from getting there and if you ever need to sit Romo for 2 or 3 games you would much rather it be with Weeden than Vaughn. ESPECIALLY if you think Vaughn has something. Imagine throwing Romo in there before he was ready. He may never be the Romo he is today. If you THINK Vaughn has something...atleast let him progress and develop on course and not rush it.
