Some receivers wear shorts in the real games.

Can’t say I’ve seen it in the NFL, but I see it in college. Ther knees are totally exposed. It makes no sense.

I first saw that in an SEC game several years ago; it was a Kentucky Wildcats RB (!) who whose short pants.
I can't recall any players still doing it this past season (although I didn't watch much college because I was working Saturday afternoons) - the NCAA\ conferences started cracking down on it a few seasons ago.
