I don't think McCarthy has any joint practices scheduled. He never had any in his time in Green Bay.

The Patriots will be in Green Bay for 2 joint practices on August 16th and August 17th. Leading up to the August 19th preseason game.

The Packers will also have one joint practice with the Bengals before the August 11th preseason game in Cinci.

Joint practices are crucial and even more important than preseason games, because it's 1s vs. 1s for the whole practice. You don't get much if any 1s vs. 1s in preseason games.

I think all teams should take advantage of joint practices. It's also great for the fans that attend camp. Those are by far the best practices of camp. These joint practices are your best view of where the team is at going into the season.

Monday July 17th.. deadline for teams to negotiate a long term deal with franchise tag players.
Can they rescind the tag as well? :muttley:
I know Pollard signed, but $10 million still too much.

I don't think Barkley even signed his tag offer.

I read something a good 6 months ago. That the NFL was encouraging teams to have more joint practices, since the PS games are now down to 3.
And may even have thought about making it a league wide thing to do. Or it could have just been the writers opinion.

Maybe a precursor to going to 2 PS games and 18 game schedule. Even though that can't be done until 2030 per the CBA. But everything is renegotiable.
So eliminate another game, but with joint practice, they can have a scrimmage to simulate a game.

That player in your avatar has to follow in the footsteps of back-to-back Green Bay legends/NFL greats.
This how we do it in Green Bay. We heard Aaron "never will amount to anything" when we shipped Favre off to the Jets. Now that we shipped Aaron to the Jets, we hear J-Love will never amount to anything. The narrative outside Wisconsin is hilarious.

Aaron sat 3 years and Jordan sat three years. Aaron credits Tom Clements for his own development as a young QB. Guess who J-Love's QB coach is.

The front office and coaching staff was excited and confident enough to move on from Aaron in favor of J-Love. He has looked like a superstar in practice for while now. Yes, he had very limited time in games behind Aaron, but he looked good when he got in against Philly for a bit. It was over 2 years ago, but he had better numbers than Mahomes in his game/loss on the road against the Chiefs.

Jordan is ready. Has a very good roster, a very good coaching staff, and the most loyal fan base in sports 100% behind him.

Sky is the limit for J-Love. Stay tuned....

I expect an NFC North 3-team race that goes down to the final two games of the 2023-24 season.
The division title winner, plus a wildcard berth possible for the other two contenders.

First step is always winning the North. But there are bigger fish to fry.

As far as winning the North, J-Love just needs to be marginally better than the complete crap show Aaron put on last season. 8-9 was embarrassing and completely unacceptable. Changes needed to be made and were.

I think 10-7 wins the North and yes, the Packers are still the Kings Of The North and will add yet another North title in 2023.

We will see what happens in the playoffs. That is always a war as you know.

But agreed, both the Packers and Cowboys will be in the mix. Philly, San Fran, Green Bay, and Dallas, the best teams in the NFC, IMHO.

Yes, just like we will see how Dak looks or ANY other starting QB.

At the moment I am looking forward to seeing how he and the rest of the roster looks at the first practice of camp at 10:30 a.m, on July 26th, on Ray Nitschke Field.

I used to take my kids on Heroes Appreciation Day when they were younger. It's a fun time.
