Training table for Sunday's game; fish and chips, anyone?

Pulled pork root beer sandwiches
Nachos
Crown Black and Coke Zero
and if I weren't currently looking for a different job...............weed. Lots and lots of weed. But I digress.

Oh and @GimmeTheBall! I just had some deviled egg potato salad this evening with beer brats and chips (the American kind. Deep fried and sold in a bag).

Slow cooked with Root Beer? Sounds interesting, ive used Mexican Coke before but never Root Beer.

Yessir. The creamier the better (A&W good/Barqs bad). The sauce is root beer based, also. Basically one cup of root beer to one bottle of chili sauce. Heat on medium until it's nice and thick (you'll need to stay on the stirring as the sugar content will make it want to char and stick to the bottom of your sauce pan). Serve with a vinegar based cole slaw...................damn!

So I basically slow cook the pork shoulder (trim the fat flap off) with about 2 1/2 cups of root beer with chopped onions. Once it's about 30 minutes from being finished I start the sauce in a pan. I keep them separate so that others can choose the root beer sauce/no sauce/sauce of their choice, throw it on a quality bun and enjoy. Great stuff and stupid easy to make.

I know you are referring to good and legal herbs and spices.

I have made this a few times but you are confusing me on this chili sauce. I use root beer, beef broth and a little tomato sauce.

What is chili sauce? A can of Hormel? Hehe

Don't feel bad. I said the same thing when someone gave me the recipe. It's in the condiments aisle of your grocery store. Sold in a bottle that looks a lot like cocktail sauce (same color, too). I think it's about 12 oz.

Gotcha, know what that is. There are many different types of chili sauces out there :D

Wings, beer, and my wife's cheese dip with Nacho Doritos instead of plain chips--genius

More beer.

Maybe I missed it, but nobody mentioned pizza? How can you go wrong with pizza, wings and ice cold beer? Oh, and frito pie.....

Lots of dank will be vapid at my place during the game as well... stuff is a god send over booze for cowboys games.

I'll be killing the chips and salsa all gm... maybe a pizza.

Probably will just watch the game, maybe eat a little something before the game, but have no idea what. I usually rather pat attention to the game, and not what is on my plate. If I stay home to watch it.
If I decide to go out to watch the game, then probably wings at half time.

Frito pie?

Sounds intriguing

Never had frito pie? Just get a bag of frito lay frito's, I prefer the smaller frito's, and cook your favorite red chili and bean recipe. You can do red chili without beans if you prefer. let the chili simmer in a large pan or crock pot. Prepare toppings like grated cheese, diced tomato's, onion, sour crème, etc. That way everyone can put whatever they prefer. Put the frito's in a bowl, pour chili over the top, add your preferred toppings and munch away. It's kind of a party favorite here in the southwest. I leave the onion's out of the chili because there's usually someone (like me) that don't like them. You can also use melted Velveeta cheese rather than grated cheese, whatever you prefer. I like ice cold beer with mine, but you can drink whatever you like. They're like nachos.....

Chicken fried steak mashed taders fried okra and gravy lots of gravy. And as much beer and booze as you can hold

The thing about you Americans, and particularly y'all in THE South, is that you are known for your BBQ, ribs and Soul food, Me? I am turning my back on London's buffet of pot roast, chicken pot pie(?) and weird Londony meat for US delicacies. It will be game day! Holy Sunday!

I am going southern/southwest for Sunday's game. Got to get those calories to get me through the mangling of the Midgets team, guys. Texan gentleman, accountant for the city (this is a city?not really, outlining town) Of Farmers Branch says to keep it simple, savory, spicy and American/Tejano.

Check this spread out, table for Sunday:
Brisket sandwiches
Quesadillas
Chips and Clint's salsa (Oh, I am bad to the bone!)
Ice cold watermelon, cubed or course (one must maintain a refined front) Football, not polo.
Iced sweat tea
Guinness (yes, y'all, very cold. Colder than the looks I get at Neiman Marcus.)
That is it, y'all. Simple but good, yes?

Offer a better menu than this and you are obviously ordering catered. And well nourished.
What meager spreads will you workaday louts have?;) Did you just insult my mom?
Fixed*

Im used to the nachos and bar b q, but fish & chips from across the pond would sooooo work for a Sunday game of the cowboys wrecking our hated giants!
