Was the smart pick. This guy is a beast. I think alot of people owe this organization an apology. And it starts with its fans. Frederick is tremendously strong and can move too. Guy can reach the 2nd level extremely fast. Frederick and Leary dominated this game. Leary seems to have found his confidence to not worry about his leg. Guy was pulling all night and on Tanners TD was halfway in the endzone. Frederick and Leary are something to build on. Add Tyron into it thats a pretty good left side. Free was ok, not 2009 but also not 2012. Arkin was ok, but he just doesnt have the strength. They need somebody to step up at RG. I think itll be Mack. I think Livings might be done in Dallas.

You can tell theres a difference in Free's technique. There is something to this L stance Broaddus was talking about in Talkin Cowboys last week. Before coming out of his stance he was always in a L shaped position reacting to the DEF players contact. But now he's initiating it. Good to see.

170 yrds of rushing is good nomatter preseason or not. It means that this team is being prepared. Means theyre buying into Callahan. I think whens its done, Jerry saved Garrett from himself. And he saved his career.

Garrett was already in good shape. This team has been behind him from day one.

Frederick did look really good, I thought, at C. From the reports, I think we're going to be ok at C for a while. All that said, this was one preseason game, with almost no blitzing and vanilla fronts. We've got a long, long way to go before we know if this OL is going to be much improved or not. I will say tonight was a better indicator than '6 sacks given up by the OL in practice' was a few days ago. :)

Majority of the fans were fine with Frederick and also adding the 3rd rounder in TWilliams. I was.

The idea a fan of this team owe the franchise an apology after years of frustration is ridiculous. The object is to win. Backing them through the era of not doing so should be payment enough.

One pre-season game, fellas. We've been here before and people have made the very same posts.

How about something totally new. Let's wait to crown them a success until they have done it in real games.

Preseason games are for evaluating individual players. The results for the teams indicate absolutely nothing. Still fun when they look good, though. :)

If Jerry wouldnt have pushed for Garrett to let go of play calling he wouldnt have And would've gotten fired with more results that Garrett was getting

Players im sure get irritated at fans that say something like this. Everytime they suit up its a real game. I think this is the difference between a athlete and a non athlete. The way of thinking.

And no majority of fans were not happy about this pick. The majority were furious because they felt Dallas couldve gotten him later. Which is ridiculous to think given how teams were putting priority on OL. Fans especially on this board were on the "OMG we're doomed" attitude in the chatroom. With the Gavin Escobar pick too.

I was hoping Dallas would move him to OG. But seeing him in a game situation he's a Center 100000%

Not the ones I read here. I'm talking about getting that 3rd rounder along with Frederick. Yes, initially after we drafted Frederick, some were upset, but after we got TWilliams in the 3rd, people came around.

I don't think JG would have likely been fired this season, short of the team collapsing. And I'm not convinced the problem has been play calling. The problem has been turnovers.

To be fair, he's also been practicing at C, and not so much at OG. But, I agree, he's at C to stay unless we have to shuffle for injuries.

I don't know what game you were watching.....Leary and Frederick were serviceable. Not the all-pro you are making them out to be. I'd cut that POS Arkin. DVR'ed the game and it just amazes me the guy still gets blown off the ball 3-4 yards off the line of scrimmage.....after being in the league for 3 seasons now. He's just not NFL material.

The Beard is the MAN.

Leary was good. Arkin. As expected. Quick but not very strong.

I haven't had a chance to watch the game yet, but this is a bit surprising. A lot of what I'd seen prior to today was that he looked more physically dominant at OG than OC. Interesting take away, can't wait to watch for myself.

Smith-Lear-Frederick will be the left side of our line for a while. As for the right, Arkin and Free are serviceable, but we could certainly upgrade. Either way, we have a "base," and most great lines are developed over time after developing a base. It doesn't happen overnight, but the difference from last year should be quite significant.

I would dance with joy if we had a solid HALF OF A LINE. And we just might have that now with Tyron,Leary, Beard.

(well 60% of a line)

Nice to hear, as a rookie Fred has the smarts to not only make the line calls, but the TV heads threw out he was also making the calls for the passing game routes I think they said.....

Was actually good to see Fred get the chop block penalty, after hearing early in camp, that he went to the ground to easily---hopefuly this call along with the coaches show him the light to keep his feet moving and balance under him.

He wasn't all-pro, but for his 1st go round in the NFL....shows he belongs and will only get better quickly, can be Pro Bowl material and then from there.

And we have a solit starter in the middle of the o line.
Not something you could say last year.
