Diggs is done.
We are better with a healthy Diggs. He hasn't been 100% for a loooong time.Huh…… I can’t get with our fans sometimes. Diggs has had two major injuries and is attempting to be healthy by the season opener. You probably listen to the non athletic fat donkey talking heads. We are better with Diggs no doubt not without him.
I don't get it, either. It's all based on some bad tackle attempts, I guess. Last year, even coming off the ACL tear, QBs avoided throwing to his side as much as they could, choosing to pick on the rookie or whatever we put on the other side.Huh…… I can’t get with our fans sometimes. He was playing pretty well last year before the setback. He may not have been completely healthy, but I was pleased with how he was playing coming off the tear when so many of our players have needed more time to get back to form.We are better with a healthy Diggs. Truth. It was palpable. You could see it. Got paid, and right on schedule, leveled out, then the injuries. I wonder if he gets injured if he wasn't making in game business decisions. hmm.karma. Glad he's working hard, now let's see if the guy can change his thinking as well.Yes. He wasn't all that before the injury.
Nothing to get. He is choosing to be lazy at tackling. It's half-assed. It's very simple, not rocket science. In this game of tackle football, you can't get lazy and think it won't come back to haunt you. This game is supposed to be physical. When healthy, he's a great ball hawk and terrible tackler THEN chooses to not try to tackle other times. If we are good with that, God help us. It's really indefensible. I want nothing more than to see him have a great year, new mindset. I wish him health.I don't get it, either. It's all based on some bad tackle attempts, I guess. I looked forward to seeing all three of our corners (Diggs, Bland and Lewis) on the field together before Diggs had the setback. I think a lot of our fans blame the setback on Diggs, but I don't know if that is fair either.
I don't get why two of our best players on defense are so disliked by many fans. I mean, it seems to be based on Diggs being hurt (which he can't help) and sometimes not going all out to make a tackle and on Parsons giving his opinions on social media.
is that true? everything’s honestly a blur at this point but prior to injury i swore i remembered him playing well / hard. couple picks, over 8 tackles a gameGot the bag. Ie the Golden Parachute to early retirement. Prior to injury AFTER he got the loot, he fell off a cliff. Fat cat syndrome and the false sense of being a made man is killing this franchise on the field.
I do think he gets lazy at tackling at times, but I also think fans have built up this image of him that doesn't quite fit. There are times when he has come up and laid a hit on an offensive player, but there are also times he's taken a poor angle or given up because he was initially blocked out of a play.Nothing to get. An image was built up about Diggs when he missed the tackle on Kittle in the San Francisco playoff game, so any time he misses a tackle or is perceived not to be trying hard to make a tackle, it is used against him.is that true? everything’s honestly a blur at this point but prior to injury i swore i remembered him playing well / hard. couple picks, over 8 tackles a game
The image I have of him is he hadn't lived up to the 2nd contract signed yet. The performance needs to marry up with the pay rate. When it does, I'll be the first on here praising him.I do think he gets lazy at tackling at times, but I also think fans have built up this image of him that doesn't quite fit. I don't think his efforts are really any different than Deion's were back in the day. Neither one is ever going to be known for his tackling. I just want him to get healthy and get back to being a menace in the passing game. Initially, he'd make the big play but give up big plays trying to jump routes. He improved on that the next year, but the injuries have set things back.
I'm not for cutting him or trading him like other fans because then it just becomes another position we need to fill, and we've got enough of those. Let's see how he does with his comeback and then make that decision at the end of the year.
Right now, we don't have a worthy replacement for him. We've got an outside corner that his team was willing to trade for peanuts and we let our slot corner go in free agency. Yes, it may be a while before Diggs is ready to go, but there's a good chance the we'll need him for this secondary to be good.
Trade him next year.I agree, but we won't.
The San Fran game was just one incident. He's done this far too often. He just needs to give better effort. Finish. It's a physical game. Has to be approached that way or your cooked. An image was built up about Diggs when he missed the tackle on Kittle in the San Francisco playoff games, so any time he misses a tackle or is perceived not to be trying hard to make a tackle, it is used against him.
The Kittle miss was a player going for the ball and trying to dislodge it on a juggling catch. It ended up looking very ugly, but Diggs was trying to make the hit when Kittle gained control of the catch and moved out of the way. There are definitely plays where it doesn't look like Diggs gave full effort, but some of the knock on him is blown out of proportion.
I think there is one play where Diggs went off on a reporter for not knowing what he was talking about. I agree with Diggs on the play. Can't remember the team, but the back was running down the sideline with blockers and pursuit. Diggs was toward the inside of the field and was staying out of the fray to protect against a cutback inside the blockers. The back didn't have to cut back and because Diggs had not raced ahead at full speed, he couldn't catch him and make the play. Diggs could have overpursued to get ahead of the play, but I don't believe that was his responsibility on that play.
I can agree with that considering he was injured the year he got the deal. I hope he can get back to the point where he's worth big money. The image I have of him is he hadn't lived up to the 2nd citrate signed yet. The performance needs to marry up with the pay rate. One image burned into my mind was the deez nuts thing with the reporter . If we are actually wanting to change culture, what do we do about this? Can we keep a guy like him on our team if he's going to physically confront his critics? We might have a Diggs problem.I can agree with that considering he was injured the year he got the deal. There are times he does need to give better effort. There are times fans hold a play against him when he was giving effort and just failed or was playing his cues. I brought up the example where he blasted the reporter, because he gets criticized at times by those who don't know his responsibility on a play. That criticism instead comes because of how he is viewed as a tackler. The San Fran game was just one incident. He's done this far too often. He just needs to give better effort. Finish. I hold bad results against him. To whom much is given, much is expected in return. The result must be better. Not just him to be fair. All 22. Winning cures bad culture. Just win by doing things the right way, never accepting half effort. There are times he does need to give better effort. The reporter was doing his job. Now who knows who was right or wrong on the call. All I know is, he looked like a punk after the game and didn't represent the team right. He did apologize so there's that. I hope he gets healthy so we can see him shine . No excuses. There are times he does need to give better effort. You might have a Diggs problem. I don't think the Cowboys do.One image burned into my mind was the deez nuts thing with the reporter . Of course they don't lol. Adds up.You might have a Diggs problem. I don't think the Cowboys do.
