Trevon Diggs going through his first week of weight bearing activities

1 year wonder Diggs.

At least you fooled Jerry and got your money, but then again, fooling Jerry isn’t hard.

This is the difference between the pretenders and the contenders. Don't get me wrong, l like Diggs but it's time to cut ties with the often injured CB.
The difference, please explain the difference. The contenders cut hurt guys!? Lmao

Huh…… I can’t get with our fans sometimes. Diggs has had two major injuries and is attempting to be healthy by the season opener. You probably listen to the non athletic fat donkey talking heads. We are better with Diggs no doubt not without him.
There is a philosophy among some fans that the best way to build the Cowboys is trade away all their best players for draft picks. Then draft 20 guys per draft. Of course when some of those players turn out to be stars? Trade them for more draft picks.

I get that point but a cut doesn't save much and I doubt they would do anything with the extra few million anyway. Better off trying to see if he can get back then go from there.
You're right it makes no sense whatsoever because there is hardly any savings and it's already 1 of the weakest spots on our team as we sit today they can address it before game one and we are better off with him, healthy..

but this will be his prove it year I think they're going to make a choice because if he doesn't look good again this year if he gets injured again this year he will not be back in 2026 and bland will get his money... This might be already one of the top needs in the first 3 rounds I'm thinking they may be a sleeper in the first round but they pick a corner over everything else that that's being mocked right now that's the least mocked position I'm telling you this might be a target for them whether they move down or whatever they may be going for a corner...

Bulter and diggs coming off injury, Lewis gone, leaves bland as the one starter if the game was starting today, yikes

I’m more concerned where his head is at and how thick his skin is. When he went at that reporter that was a low point for me as far as my opinion of him. But let’s see what happens this year. We’re better with him healthy than without him.
I think this is a good take and I agree that we should see what happens this season.

My next comment isn’t pointed at you plymkr…it’s more of a general comment.

I am much less concerned than some about the reporter incident. I agree it wasn’t the best look but it was a heat of the moment comment after a tough loss. And I give him a LOT of credit for apologizing. To me, that shows a level of maturity often lacking in today’s society.

Diggs is under the microscope every week and is likely aware that he hasn’t returned to his previous form. But he is still human and not immune to typical human behaviors. Sure he signed up for it when he decided to play pro sports. And he amped up the scrutiny when he signed a big contract. But he is still human.

Today’s society needs to be a little more forgiving of the human condition. We now live in a world where it is more therapeutic to find fault in others than to look inward. It’s unhealthy and divisive, with no real redeeming qualities.

As for me and my personality, especially in my younger years, I’m certainly not one to throw stones over this type of incident. As I have aged, I have found that showing a little grace can be quite liberating. Maybe it’s because I have become soft. Maybe I have learned grace from raising 5 boys. Or maybe after 6 decades I have finally realized that giving others the power to influence my emotions is a fool’s errand. IMO, going through life pissed off about things you can’t control is wasted energy.

You do realize how many fans have a problem with Diggs right? It's A LOT. But he can totally redeem himself by his on field play, coupled with transforming his image off it. The team is cooked if we are ok with bad play and poor behavior. Time to hold the team accountable. I'm willing to give the new staff a chance to sort it all out.
And this is why fans are couch GM's, and not real GM's.
Oh, many think they can do it, but can they. Some have very good ideas, but that is what thy are, things they want the team to do.
Sounds good in theory. But fans do not know all the intricacies of running a team.

Yes, our GM is not all that great, but it is easy to say, oh cut this player, cut that player, sign this guy, he will only cost you $25 million but is not that difference maker, but I like the player.

One year? He played what, 3 or 4 before he got his contract extension.

Agree Jerry gets fooled often, but don't make it out like Diggs did not play well, but 1 year.

Not I. I don't think I can be anything other than a fan. My observations are just that, only that. Doesn't mean more or less.

I think this is all we are wondering. How thick is his skin.. It matters. A guy or gal needs to be able to be humble enough to have an open mind to constructive criticism. That's life in general for all of us, including athletes.

An image was built up about Diggs when he missed the tackle on Kittle in the San Francisco playoff game, so any time he misses a tackle or is perceived not to be trying hard to make a tackle, it is used against him.

The Kittle miss was a player going for the ball and trying to dislodge it on a juggling catch. It ended up looking very ugly, but Diggs was trying to make the hit when Kittle gained control of the catch and moved out of the way. There are definitely plays where it doesn't look like Diggs gave full effort, but some of the knock on him is blown out of proportion.

I think there is one play where Diggs went off on a reporter for not knowing what he was talking about. I agree with Diggs on the play. Can't remember the team, but the offensive player was running down the sideline with blockers and pursuit. Diggs was toward the inside of the field and was staying out of the fray to protect against a cutback inside the blockers. The ball carrier didn't have to cut back and because Diggs had not raced ahead at full speed, he couldn't catch him and make the play. Diggs could have overpursued to get ahead of the play, but I don't believe that was his responsibility on that play.
yeah 100% and him arguing with the reporter was not a good look, but i excuse being human. and i have been guilty of bashing the guy for making business decisions, but that's one of the reasons i recall being impressed with him last year because he was doing the opposite the majority of the time and it impressed me.

Yep BUT the player was wrong to cross the line. He even admitted it. So for me, it's over. But the real issue is, can we fix the culture with a player that's fragile emotionally when he's criticized? It's a fair question. I know it's moot. He's likely not going anywhere. My hope is he has a full recovery and plays out of his mind. But we cannot have another incident like that. On the field, we need him to tackle and finish. If he can't or won't, then we shall see.
he's been in the league for 5 years and theres one outburst like this. and in the midst of a lot of controversy and drama, people are human. if it happened again, sure wring your hands, but you're doing too much currently.

personally i put the 2 years of knee issues on the strength and conditioning staff. The ACL not their fault but for some reason their regiment always seems to mess up the guys either they rush them back,or give them crappy exercises to do or something, Gallup now Diggs

I am? Lol. No, it's draft time nearly. Decisions must be made, or not made. What I question is valid. Before you know it camp is here. Are we so sensitive that mere criticism and or questions make us trouble makers? Lol. Come on man. During the season, I'm in full on team Diggs mode. But if there ever was a time to be a hand wringer, now is that time. This is when teams evaluate on and on.

i meant moreso that we're a year removed and it was an isolated incident that has been rectified. i'd honestly forgotten about it already.

And to be fair, he did apologize. But here's another thing, will he even be available by like week 5? So I'm questioning everything at CB, not just him. This is that time to evaluate the CB room, not just him. Josh Butler is a guy that has me excited. I thought he was our best db outside of Lewis last year. I want him to get a shot again . But again, he had a bad injury happen. Bland was injured. My Lord, more I look at the db room, it's a mess. We need 2 more high end guys either from free agency or the draft. This is why I'm looking deeper at the Diggs situation.

It's crazy how that changes so quickly. You think back to 2 years ago. We had Diggs, Gilmore, Bland, and Lewis and it looked like a position of strength. Now fast forward and there's uncertainty with the injuries. Carson played well in camp and perhaps he makes strides in year 2, but he clearly wasn't ready to be a big contributor last year. CB will definitely be a need.
