Even though wins are not a QB stat anymore than they are a G stat, and are generally used by the simple minded to try and explain QBs when they do not know how to use actual analysis, Dak's "win rate" against winning teams actually is fairly in line with just about every other top tier QB, with the exception of Mahomes because he is mid dynasty so the Chiefs just beat everyone.
Well we can go back and forth all day but let's see how this plays out. Answers are coming

LIke many, if not most of us, I'm hoping Trey Lance proves himself worthy of being retained for backup duty with this team. Whether or not he's able to beat out Cooper Rush remains to be seen in TC and the preseason that follows. If Lance is solidly "at his best" as he so assumes, he's likely in! If he's not, being sent packing might well be in his future. We'll soon see about that in TC and the preseason that follows. I wish him well.

I want Lance to be successful and I’m rooting for him, but I can’t be the only one wondering why the big PR push that’s happening.
The team makes money through collecting eyeballs. That's the whole NFL. That's the business.

Lance is a story. Kaching.

Also, on a football note, the more interest in Lance, the better. Maybe a team likes him in the preseason and trades for him. If nothing else, the more he gets paid after he leaves us, the better the comp pick we get.

And it goes back to what people told you before. Its not been proven lance is mediocre. Hes still a long shot sure.
I mean by that logic it has not been proven any player is anything so far so lets just start a bunch of undrafted free agents because they could hypothetically all be all pros and we do not know they are not.

Why..you got some hyperbole going on, that I could spring back on you, but i wont.
Of course you cant put every single prospect on the field, or have unlimited time with them. I never said treys all pro or even that hes better than dak.

It would be best to stick with what i said....hes big unknown right now. Maybe he'l get a shot and do well....maybe not.

I happen to think a few are cheering his demise a liitle too enthusiasticaly.

I mean its literally your argument as you are saying that we do not know and random undrafted free agents would fit that bill even more than Lance (who is entering his 4th year with 3 years of bad marks).

The reason I find it annoying is because it just seems like he is getting significantly more chances than anyone else could ever hope to get. He looked awful as a rookie, looked bad before getting injured in his second year, and lost a backup job to Sam Darnold, by most reports convincingly, and yet there are still people absolutely sure he is the QB of the future. It just reminds me of an old quote by I think Ryan Clark where he said that a 1st round pick will get 8 years to show they are a bust whereas a 6th round pick has to spend 8 years showing they are not. The biggest weakness of fans, as well as scounts/GMs, is not being able to move past the pre draft stock and just see a player for what they are.

not proven. but if it walks like a duck. sounds like a duck. looks like a duck. its a duck.

what he has shown to date in the NFL hasn't shown one single iota of evidence of any kind for anyone to think he can be elite.

if that's your argument. then it hasn't been proven Michael Simmons. a QB from University of XYZ is medicore. he is a longshot for sure.
