I think it's really funny that people are bad mouthing Lance. Some are saying he isn't an NFL qb when he just outplayed the NFL rookie of the year who was the 2nd pick in the draft.

If Jerry Jones thought Trance was in any way, shape, or form anywhere close to Daniels as an NFL quarterback he would have signed him by now. He doesn’t think that. No other team does. No team will pursue Trance. The Cowboys will invite him to camp and if he makes the team it will be as the emergency QB at the minimum compensation allowed in the CBA. His only chance of making the Cowboys in 2025 is because of familiarity. If the coaching staff has changes Trance’s days with the Cowboys organization are over.

Ti-Cats had poor quarterback play last season. Perhaps he could catch on there. Trance’s Dad played in the CFL. Trance is in no position to turn his nose up at any opportunity that could get him on a football field.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having Lance as the backup on a reasonable 2 year deal.

Sucky backups are fine. As long as they never have to play.

Or....you have no aspirations of winning anything over and above the Revenue Award.

Clearance said that Lance would have played earlier if he signed the new contract that they offered him several weeks ago.

That could have different meaning depending on how early.

There is a big difference between if it was right after Dak's injury or after we got eliminated from the playoffs.

I just read this tidbit in this article.

“ Lance is only about seven months older than Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. He's a day younger than Atlanta's Michael Penix and two months or so younger than Bo Nix in Denver.”

I’ve been on the fence about writing him off but this certainly puts things in perspective. Add this to the Darnold resurrection and we sometimes can be too quick to sunset these guys.

He needs a lot of game time experience to really know what he is. I wish there was a G league equivalent for the NFL. Just musing, but I wonder what the precedence is of a team loaning a player to the UFL during the summer.

Darnold wasn't bad... the idiots running the team were. Kinda like Dallas, except our QB is bad.

On a side note... Lance made $34,105,270 in 4 seasons. If he wasn't stupid he could retire. But, most of these players aren't too bright with money.

I wish we didn't sign DP and just used that money to build a solid team around Lance and Rolled with that. Honestly he has all the tools. With good coaching and the opportunity he'd be a stud! And he's freaking 24 yrs old.......

He’ll be a back up QB in the CFL next season. Guys coming out of college football now are even younger than he is. Trey “Trance” Lance is not good enough to play in the NFL. It’s over.
