They have had several practices to evaluate Lance and the “QB academy”. Granted, they don’t know what they have in live action on game day but they should have an idea of what they think he could be or not be.

The problem is if they move on from this coaching staff then the new coaching staff has no idea on Lance coming in. Glad I am just an armchair qb. Take everybody to woodshed Jerry but start with the GM first.

As rookies, Love was worse than Lance.

Rookie Season
Love
62 total pass attempts
68.7 QB rating

Lance
71 total pass attempts
97.3 QB rating

A post June 1st trade of Dak saves 35M on the 2024 cap based on his current contract.
Oh common, Love was behind Aaron Rodgers for 4 years. He never had a chance to play before this year. Lance had his shot but couldn’t stay healthy and then got beat out by Sam Darnold for a backup QB job.

Would you settle for less at your job vs other Cowokers doing the same job and some worse than you??
Well I can tell you that I could leave for a competitor for a lot more money and power than I have now...but I won't bc I am at the Google of my industry and very happy.

Money doesn't buy everything...I would hope when you are making more than some countries GDP...that would factor less. Probably not though

We need to move on from the Dak era. I've supported and defended him and Romo but if you can't get it done by end of your second contract, you need to move on. I felt the same way about Romo ~2014. Both Romo and Dak are above average QBs that are good enought to win you a championship in a right situation. Unfortunately, that's not here. Sometimes a new enviroment/situation is good for the both parties. We can't afford to extend him at ~55M plus rate and field a good team.

Because he isn't as good of a QB as Dak. Never been further than him in the playoffs either.

I'm fine moving on from Dak if we get a haul. Not cutting him, that is dumb.
Lamar wil get further this year. And Lamar is multi dimensional. He does things no other WB can do. Did you watch the 49ers game? Has Dak EVER played like that against a top tier defense? I love Dak, but he’s not close.

Lance needs game action in the worst way possible. I don't know how much you can learn in 5 years of studying on the sidelines, but he's probably reached that limit.

Lamar is a legitimately good passer. He was pretty rough early in his career, and that stigma still follows him today, but he's developed into a complete top-five QB.

The Jets were a top tier defense when we played them.

I saw 5 ints that had nothing to do with Lamar as well.

Remains to be seen what Lamar does this post season.

Love had been terrible up until 2 months ago. Something might have clicked for him. I don’t see where Lance had an opportunity to click yet.

Also, I think Dallas has to cut Dak if they plan to move on from hi

Colin said today it’s like he missed the cut at the Valero Open and then won the Masters by 12 strokes.

It’s pretty amazing how it just clicked for him. We cannot give up on Lance. He’s a third overall pick he’ll get a long leash to see if he can figure it out but it would be an awesome story if he does and could save us for the next ten years.

I would turn into a better fan again.

I totally get the "anybody but Dak" narrative now. But everything about Lance is pure speculation. He couldn't stay healthy in San Fran and was ineffective when he did play while surrounded by better coaches and a better supporting cast than he would have here.

And the way the entire team played yesterday even a great game by a QB would not have mattered.

I think the coaching staff needs a purge first, then let's worry about Dak and everything else that went wrong.

Lamar is a good passer. He doesn’t put up huge raw numbers but he was very efficient passing the ball this season.

Who would trade for a 30 year old QB with a 50M+ contract and one year remaining.

Nobody

It's two options

Release or redo contract

Lance sucks.

Watch Love stink it up vs the 49ers. People forget our defense has made guys look good all year. Our defense is only really good at getting turnovers. When we don't get them our defense stinks. And we seen that yesterday.
Watch the last few games of the season. It really did start clicking for love. He was making some clutch throws and good reads......not to mention to no name receivers and tight ends...
