Sure he is. He either finally shows why he was a top pick in the draft or he does what everyone expects and sucks something awful and we get a QB with a top pick in the draft.

For you to believe Lance is a serious option, you would have to believe Jerry and Stephen know more about QB evaluation than Kyle Shanahan.

Lance sucks, and he's not a serious option to start a single game for this franchise. Want to move on from Dak? Fine. Draft someone.

Perfect chance for Jerry to offer Dak $35 mil / year extension. That would give the team lots of salary cap room while still be enough for Dak. Dak is good. Very good, but he needs help. He needs to help the team now. If he refuses, make him a post June 1st cut since he can't be traded due to his no-trade current contract clause.
Dak needs help? What about a 1st year QB(Love), first time in the playoffs with no big name receivers shredding our defense. Good QB's don't need excuses, they succeed with what they have...having to get Dak multiple star receivers just so he can succeed? See ya Dak!

Anyone that say Lance sucks knows nothing about football. Shanahan had to trade him because another QB was playing lights out and you can't have a player of his salary sitting on the roster, they got something for him before they lost him for nothing...

I'm not saying he's not going to suck. I'm saying he's a serious option for the reasons I listed. I agree, draft someone as well. Send Dak packing

It's now or never.
Would be prudent to move up and draft a QB also.
If we can go 5-1 with Rush we have nothing to lose cutting ties with the tattoo man.
We have all witnessed Prescott's ceiling back in 2016 and that's all she wrote.

At 24 how high do you go without pulling a Mike Ditka or do you stay put. This teams needs so much.

Hire Harbaugh or Bill. Develop Lance, and whatever coordinators the coach picks not Jerry. If they feel Lance is up for the job great, if not then they can work on it in the next couple years to make us competitive. Tell Dak to remove his no trade clause.

Shanahan didn't have to do anything. But he had a better QB on the roster and decided to swallow his pride, admit he made a mistake, and ship him out to an idiot wannabe GM who didn't even consult his head coach before making the trade.

Do you think the we try to bring Lance along during the offseason and try to get him into the starting lineup for next year? If not week 1 then if DAK struggles throughout the
As unbelievable as it is, Jerry is about to make our mediocre QB who folds like a cheap chair under pressure the highest paid QB in the NFL. All we can do is watch in disbelief.

Exactly. That’s the difference between Dallas and teams that advance in the playoffs. We are slow to accept a mistake was made and even slower to fix it.

I'm a Niner fan, but I didn't come to rub it in. I'm interested in Trey Lance and what happens to him in Dallas. From my perspective, Dak Prescott is significantly better than Lance. I think the Cowboys would be taking a step backwards if they hand it over to Lance next year, but I get the argument that maybe you need to take a step back to move forward. Time will tell if Lance can be better than Prescott, but at this point there's a pretty wide gap. The good news from the Cowboys perspective is that he didn't cost much, a mere 4th rounder, and his cap hit is still significantly lower than Dak for the next couple of years. But as others have said, if you cut Dak loose, there should be another viable veteran on the roster because Lance has obviously had injury issues and may be too raw to ever get ahead of the curve in the NFL. But he's a quality kid and it would be a good story if he develops.

Losing doesn’t hurt the marketing with the Cowboys. Jerry continues to pull in a ton of money regardless how the team is playing. The fans keep packing the stadium and keep buying the merchandise. It’s a lot worse for the fans. Just look at this board and social media when we lose.
Not making the playoffs isn’t great for Jerry.

No, it’s not but making the playoffs or missing them isn’t keeping the fans from filling his stadium and buying merchandise. The Cowboys haven’t won anything of significance in 28 years but they’re still the richest franchise.

I get all that but it’s always better financially to make the playoffs. But you’re right, its secondary

You’re not gonna get a haul for Parsons. He’s a young elite player you should build around. But he needs help. A good DC can find a way to build around him.

Agree, unfortunately don’t think there are anymore great train robberies, like Jimmy pulled off for HW out there.

Jerry clearly wants to make the playoffs but he’s not going to make any drastic changes with the way he runs the team unless he’s seeing empty seats in the stadium and he’s losing money.
