Do you know of any that catalog NFL jersey history? I've never found a good one.

There used to be a good one administered by a guy who ran into $ and emotional problems and simply stopped. I'll try to find it.

I'll join in the trivia a bit.

Mel Renfro was a RB in college at Oregon. What event played a role in his move to DB and what did Mel do that caused it?

I like the old blue and white rams helmet reminds me of seeing Roman Gabriel
and Jack Snow. I was a big fan of Jack Snow as a kid

That's funny, me too. I don't know what it was about him but I really liked him as a player.

We all know that Seattle began as an AFC team before getting moved into the NFC. During the merger of the NFL and AFL Which Current 3 AFC team once resided in the NFC or at that time the NFL?

Actually, the Seahawks "began" as an NFC team in 1976 before moving to the AFC after their first season. They moved back the NFC in 2002.

Yep, I was watching an old movie. "Cleopatra" from 1934 with Claudette Colbert and Henry Wilcoxon. Not the best of CB DeMille's classics but still worth watching. Actually, it was quite "risque" for the era.

For you younger fans, Henry Wilcoxon played the bishop in "Caddyshack" (the guy playing in the rainstorm who gets struck by lightning). He was one of CB DeMille's favorites and was in nearly every big production he made.

That guy has two Chicago helmets as well. The only teams not featured on his cool wall are the Panthers, Ravens, Texans and the Commanders, which I think is just special.

Interesting that he doesn't have a Commanders helmet. But then, what would be the point? :D

In 1976, the Seahawks were part of the NFC West division while the Tampa Bay Bucs were in the AFC West division. In 1977, the Seahawks went to the AFC West while the Bucs were moved to the NFC Central division.

I think I read that the NFL did this with the expansion teams so they could play as many of the exisitng teams as possible during their first two seasons.

The Cowboys began life in 1960 as part of the NFL's Western Conference. They moved to the Eastern Conference in 1961 when Minnesota joined the West.

From 1964 through 1966 the star did not have the blue outline that we see today. That helmet is from one of those years.

Ok it's been awhile now, what's the answer? :banghead:

Here's an example of the "toned down" star. Incidentally, this was the perfect shade of blue for the pants.
