When President Kennedy was assassinated Mel Renfro punched a mirror several times and did nerve damage to his hand. Everyone knew the Cowboys were high on him. They passed on him with the 4th pick of round 1 and took Texas OT Scott Appleton. Teams figured since Dallas had doen so much work that his hand was really bad and they all passed on him. Dallas took him in the 2nd round and several teams called foul. They'd been hoodwinked. Dallas switched him from RB to DB and in 14 seasons he was a 10 time Pro Bowl player. Ironic that he ended up in Dallas.
