This is very true. You don't want to end up with a nose like the Commander kicker got at Texas Stadium. :laugh2:

Ok it's been awhile now, what's the answer? :banghead:
When President Kennedy was assassinated Mel Renfro punched a mirror several times and did nerve damage to his hand. Everyone knew the Cowboys were high on him. They passed on him with the 4th pick of round 1 and took Texas OT Scott Appleton. Teams figured since Dallas had doen so much work that his hand was really bad and they all passed on him. Dallas took him in the 2nd round and several teams called foul. They'd been hoodwinked. Dallas switched him from RB to DB and in 14 seasons he was a 10 time Pro Bowl player. Ironic that he ended up in Dallas.

Here's an example of the "toned down" star. Incidentally, this was the perfect shade of blue for the pants.

Great story but what does it have to do with the helmet in the picture?

Balt (now Indy) Colts.
Cleveland Browns.
Pittsburgh?
*edit* wasn't too confident about the Steelers but after reading this thread I see I was correct! I figured as much because of how long they've been in existence.

The original premise of the thread was trivia.

Got it now, I just thought you were answering the point about the helmet and it didn't make sense.

I still haven't heard what the guy thought was wrong with the helmet though.

NE never should have changed their helmets.

The thread started out as a trivia thread and Hostile was doing his best to get us back on track -- I kinda helped hijack the thread with my trivia question re: the Cowboys helmet.

Fred, did you see the posts about the picture you posted of Don Perkins against the Vikings. I nailed the exact day of that picture for you.
