Trivia question

I was watching the 1979 Dal-Wash game the other night and Tom Brookshire noted that the Cowboys hadn't lost twice to the same team in the regular season since 1970 (St. Louis). Of course, we lost twice to the Skins in 1972, but that second loss came in the playoffs. So from 1971 to 1983, we were never swept by a division rival. Pretty impressive.

Charlie Waters tells some interesting stories about Danny and Roger. Apparently Danny was the better athlete whether it was basketball or ping pong. It's a shame Danny gets so little credit for his time in Dallas. And I always wondered why he didn't get a coaching gig in the NFL.

The Eagles are taking a big risk going from a quarterback who had a Pro Bowl season to a quarterback who has thrown fewer than 150 passes in his career.

What is the ONLY time since the NFL-AFL merger that a playoff team with a quarterback who made the Pro Bowl that season has switched to a quarterback with fewer than 150 career pass attempts and then returned to the playoffs the next season with that new quarterback?
im going to really try this one

im going to guess montana to young?

Too easy, huh?

You are correct. White had only 103 career attempts when he took over in 1980 after Staubach retired following a playoff season in which he made the Pro Bowl. The Cowboys then went 12-4 with White.

Every other playoff team since the merger (and possibly before that) that went from a Pro Bowl quarterback to an inexperienced one has failed to make the playoffs.

And Danny used to joke about Roger's longevity...he mimicked a reporter once, saying something like, "And finally, 65-year old Roger Staubach retires leaving Danny White finally able to start..."...or something like that...it was hilarious :laugh2:

The 49ers missed the playoffs in Young's first season. And Young already had 825 career pass attempts in the NFL (and 1,385 as a pro) before he took over in 1991.
