Troy is a Biadasz. He still looks in shape. Total field general with great charisma and personality.

Sounds like an awesome season of A Football life. Everyone of those episodes should be good (not super interested in the Chad Johnson one but I'll probably still watch it).

That would be a good one, too. I'd like to see Darren Woodson's story, also.

They've featured a number of great backs, even Jerome Bettis but continue to leave Emmitt out who's the all-time leading rusher.

Don't know what was so interesting about Jerome Bettis's career that got him featured on the series. I didn't even bother to watch his.

Really, it focused on the fact that he was traded from the Rams and ended his career in his hometown at the Super Bowl. It wasn't bad but it wasn't horribly interesting either.

I'd like to see a couple of more obscure players, actually. Maybe I'm nuts but I'd like to see one on a guy like Garrison Hearst or Natrone Means. Not HOF type of guys but players that were at the top of the league when they played. I watched a show on Christian Okoye (can't remember if it was a Football Life or like an ESPN 30 for 30) but it was interesting. The thing about only focusing on HOF guys that I don't like is that we already know most of their stories. I'd like to see some other types of players highlighted, also.

Think about this for a second the Cowboys OL of the 90s (The Great Wall of Dallas) got featured on A Football Life before Emmitt. If you watched that episode they were giving the OL most of the credit for Emmitt's success.

......yet every time they tried to slide someone into Emmitt's spot, they failed (miserably). Emmitt will get his due but you have to admit, that was a bad *** O-line. A case can be made that it was the best unit in the history of the game (to this point).

As far as obscure players I think an interesting one would be Joe Delaney who drowned in 1983 trying to save three kids. He actually saved one of them. He was an RB chosen in the 2nd round by the Chiefs in 1981. He was named AFC rookie of the year with just over 1100 yards rushing. He had great speed and reminded a lot of people of Tony Dorsett.

It's arguably the greatest OL in NFL history but I feel it was a bit of a slap at Emmitt to feature the unit that blocked for him before they featured him on the show. They were showing some of the great runs Emmitt made and pointing to the blocks rather than some of the things Emmitt did once he got past the line of scrimmage. He shook off Darrell Green on one of those plays.

I have always admired Troy.
He was not about celebrity. He excelled in handing the ball off then launching the 40-yard pass.
He was, blokes, a hero of the fall. In college, as a pro.
3 rings? Get out of here! Here's a ticket to the Piccadilly matinee. Take yer crumblies and walkabies to the east end!
Troy is our last true hero, part of the Trinity of Cowboys legend. Not flashy like Romo, not agile like Staubach. More like Danny White, and, in a distant universe, blokes, the Meredith field general -- TOUGH -- finding ways to work the field. 3 rings...

See THAT'S the type of stories I want to see. Flexing my own ignorance, here, I didn't even know who Joe Delaney was. Now, I'm actually intrigued..............

I remember Joe Delaney but I'm sure many don't. He got off to a great start his rookie year in 1981 and the first player everyone started comparing him to was Tony Dorsett. He looked like he was going to have a great career until his life was cut tragically short.
