Troy Aikman: Age isn't an excuse for Ezekiel Elliott actions

My only issue with Zeke is exposing the woman's breast. It's a troublesome issue as well, far worse than anything Kaepernick did.
How do you and others have more of an issue than the person it happened to? Seems strange to me

Thank God there was no social media when I was growing up. I feel bad for young people today because one mistake, recorded by some idiot with nothing better to do, can kill their careers. I'm constantly reminding my kids to watch what they Tweet, what they Snap Chat, what they post on Facebook, etc. It never goes away.......

Having said that, I had my **** together fairly early on and was gainfully employed by my early 20's. These athletes need to understand that if someone is going to pay you millions or you have a shot at an NFL career, then stay out of trouble; stay out of strip joints; stay out of weed shops; stay out shady bars....especially today with social media and video recorders on every cell phone. It's not fair, but that's the society we live in today. And I don't think that's a lot to ask in return for possibly millions of dollars.
I have to admit that, for the most part, Zeke's antics on the field don't bother me. If anything, it has brought a little more fun to the NFL. I read a marketing assessment recently that speculated that Dallas's 2016 season and, by extension, Dal and Zeke, was one of the biggest contributors to arresting the sharp decline in TV ratings (I commented on this in another thread).

What I don't excuse or accept is some of Zeke's off-field antics. I realize he played college football at a major university and was in spotlight. I just can't help but believe, though, that the NFL SPOTLIGHT is an order of magnitude greater attention.

And what do you think he'll be suspended over? If over the crazy chick who crashed his birthday party, I'm not concerned with Zeke; I'm more concerned over the direction of the NFL and their policies.
Nothing yet (although we'll see next week).

But he's dancing along that fine line all the time. He'll eventually step over it.

I love Aikman. In fact, as a Dallas Cowboys fan I love and respect him a lot. He was truly a great player.

However, I wish he would have been more vocal during the 90s. I wish he would have stood up against Jerry for making some bad moves during those days.

Now that he's no longer playing football he is speaking out on players like Zeke. Where was he when things were falling apart in Dallas? Where was he when Jerry was running the show like a circus? Why does he finally speak out against one particular player and that player plays for the Cowboys? I want more of a vocal Aikman. But why did it take him almost two decades to speak up about the Cowboys?

Dude, he was blowing up nearly every other game when things were beginning to fall apart. Aikman has been very vocal about how disappointing he found the latter half of his career with Cowboys and how things were managed. He was never shy about this.

Huh? He was the most vocal leader and the one most willing to say the hard thing.

A player is not going to publicly criticize his owner/GM in public...that would be absurd foolishness.

Are you privy to what Aikman told Jerry in private?

Well that may be your opinion, but Zeke will be playing on Sundays and Kaepernick won't. Jerry Jones literally JUST said you stand up for the flag or you're off the team.

Very true. He would go cray on the field, in the huddle, out of formations... it wasn't something unusual.
