Parcells will do his best to put the finishing touches on this team for 2006 as he prepares to address the offensive side of the ball.

Most of us would agree he did a very good job of bringing in talent, through the draft and free agency, to revamp the defense in 2005.

Do you think he will, or will not, have the same success for the offensive side of the ball in 2006?

Depends on what you mean by finishing touch.

If Romo and Henson is still on the roster expecting to compete for that "franchise QB" role then I have a hard time saying that that is indeed a finished product.

Until the future at QB is settled and we get individuals that are:
A) Young
B) Not former Baseball Rejects
C) From bigger colleges and have the pedigree

it will never be finished.

I dont care about Moxie or speculation about how high one could have gone in the draft 5 years ago...

I think it is hard to say what he will do between Offense and defense...
We are probably very close to having a very dominant defense , so dose he finish that and just tweak the offense.....Very good question though, Cbz....

I will say one thing Parcells will get Dallas to the playoffs next year and the Boys will be a legit contender for the ring , No matter what direction he gose in....

He doesn't have to re-vamp all to much, JUST the OL. But that's easier said than done.

If you can protect Bledso and open things up for JJ/MB3 this offense will look ALOT better.

Nope...he's an entirely different coach on the offensive side of the ball. So, I wouldn't see him trusting a young team offensively as he did with the defense this season.

I honestly think we are close. Really, with the line we had, to go 9-7. I think its pretty amazing. We fix this line and we have as good a chance as anyone to go to the big dance. Barring injuries of course.

Exactly the reason why I do not see him drafting on the O side of the ball....I think he will try to fill those holes through FA.

As far as QB.... we will go through another season of Russian Roulette.:(

Tell ya what, I wouldn't mind if he loaded up on the defense...so long as he let them loose...

The O line does have to be addressed...AND we're playing with fire going into the season with two WR's as old as these guys.

There's ALOT to address.

And ya know, we all remember what happened with Parcells after being thiiiiiis close to beating Denver in the AFC Championship game...next season, he came back with Vinny...and no proven back up....Vinny was knocked out for the season in the first game...Season over.

We have had quite a lucky streak at QB...no injuries.

You kinda asked 2 questions there CBZ Do I think he "will do his best" to fix the offensive Line, kicking game ect. Yeah that should be obvious to anyone.

Do i think he will have the same success? No idea thats a damn tall order to ask for. Say he gets us 2-3 good players that really help, he still didnt have the same success as last year since our draft and FA was so damn good, yet he still brought 3 players so is it a success or failure ?

I think he will try hard for sure, him and J.J will do whatever..however if we have no depth then we are doomed one major injury and we are at square one again..also if we to succeed BP should stay away from play calling

With an OL, WR, kicker, FS, LB......A vet backup QB will be at the bottom of the list.

That lucky streak will have to continue......it's ashame we find ourselves in this state of being.

Well Henning and Parcells did a great job with Lucas when Vinny went down with the Jets...hahaha "Vinny and the Jets"....uh, never mind.

Anyway...it just seems "irresponsible" to not have played the kid QB's in two years. Ya know, people made a stink about Henson not playing for so long...Bad News, Romo hasn' thrown a pass in a regular season game in three years!

Crazy stuff.

Anyway...fingers crossed.

I think he may add a young guy to the offense but will probably go with vets via FA...

I think the finishing touches are fixin the OL. Do that and we can get to the Super Bowl and win it.

The only problem with Parcells is we have no idea if our QB of the future is Henson or someone we need to draft. Well that is what happens when you waste games away on Vinny and Bledsoe when the team is already outta the playoffs.

I think Parcells likes Romo. He stated awhile back that he had a quarterback prospect we were going to like. I think Romo will be the 2nd string quarterback again next year. I wouldn't be suprised if Parcells lets Romo compete for the starting job in the season after next.

I think the players and the TEAM will overcome some obstacles next year on player determination and TEAM concept alone... they will have a bad taste in their mouth for just missing the W in many games and the missing of the playoffs...

I hope BP gets us over the hump, turn the corner, take next step - however you want to word it...

Bill and everyone knows we're close. Bill and everyone wants to go for the kill shot next year. He'll bring in more defensive players in the draft, but i agree OL should be upgraded thru FA. We need a dependable, dominant OL and i would prefer we start with a dominating Center. I would also bring in a guy who has several seasons playing as a RT, but has some versatility.
OL must be fixed, at any cost, if we are to win the tournament. Bill and everyone knows it.
