They went out and picked up one of the better run stuffers in the league, and tried to bring in Brandin Cooks. Not going for the Cooks trade after not agreeing to terms on the numbers next year is the best move they could've made, considering the number of contracts coming up on the horizon. What moves would you have made, OP?

I'll be the first to critique Jerry if i felt it was valid.. But in this case, it takes two to tango and no one wanted to dance with Jerry. Steps on too many toes..LOL...:muttley:.. Cookes deal for 2nd rd pick but he is due $18m next season guarantee. I am sure there was a problem with that. On Roquan's deal he is a UFA after this season which he is making $9+m ...the Bears were trying to extend him but talks fell through and so he was traded. Being only 25, So probably wants a major contract in years and dollars which was way too high. Its the Ravens problem now. Not sure who else they might have been looking at, but sometimes the best deals are ones you don't make. Yeah, they did get Hankins though. There is Suh out there, at age 35, and FA and he made $14m last year. Obviously missing most of the season you are not gonna pay him that. But apparently in good condition and looking to come back to play for a contender this season. So who knows. But i doubt it.

Go watch the video in my thread. He played a handful of snaps and he shut down those middle runs while he was in there. DLaw surrendering contain over and over again accounts for half of those rushing yards.

He actually played 35 snaps and according to DQ it’s probably more than he will play the rest of the year. But I agree.

Its not pathetic, they just didn't do what you wanted them to do.

I only care about winning, there are a couple of positions that need improvement, but I don't want to totally give up on the future for the present with this team.

If Hankins can do what Amari did when he first came here then I'm all in on him.
You mean until his real self kicked in, and he started taking select games off? Not saying he will too…just sayin.

Every single team who is contention, and some not, made moves. But the cowboys and all its infinite wisdom, stayed pat.

Awful

Jerry likes to talk as if knows what he's doing. He doesn't. Wish he would shutup and not make a fool of himself.

And yes I'm still pissed that he let Amari go so easily for so little. Thanks to Jerry and Capboy.

They did the right thing in not doing anything. Any move would have been an over-pay. I just wish they had kept quiet and stopped giving us a running commentary

That’s not true that it has to be an overpay. Eagles seem to do just fine making trades; only here our narrative is that you must get burned in trades.

I know what you mean, but the Cowboys do this every year. If you were expecting something more than trivial, then you haven't been paying attention.

The Cowboys standard operating procedure doesn't change much from year to year beyond a tweak here and there. What you saw last off season, that's what you'll see next off session. It doesn't matter who we lost, or whether or not we're in contention. It doesn't matter if we went 4-13 or 13-4. Same SOP.

It's pretty much the conservative approach.

I suspect we would overpay. Eagles I never think do. I think a 2nd for Cooks plus his contract (which they were trying to sort out) would have been a slight overpay for me.

Well it hasn't improved yet.

The defense did give up 240 rushing yards against the Bears.
So you expected Hankins come in and not miss a beat with limited practice and scheme orientation. From your perspective then, was Hankins also supposed to be solely accountable for run stopping, and the Bears had only one way and one direction to run and that is by or through Hankins?
