I suspect we would overpay. Eagles I never think do. I think a 2nd for Cooks plus his contract (which they were trying to sort out) would have been a slight overpay for me.
IMO at some point you gotta gamble and say hey let’s take a chance this year bc right now we have a really special squad.

Every single team who is contention, and some not, made moves. But the cowboys and all its infinite wisdom, stayed pat.

Awful
Welcome to the board Acho:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:. Please tell us who you would have traded for and what picks you would have given up.
I get the need to want to improve the team but teams traded their garbage away. Detroit did not want TJ, we made Smith look bad Sunday, Chubb you needed to give up a 1st and Claypool a 2nd. Hell no!!!

Also Hankins will do more for our defense then talking heads realize.

I would rather not get in anyone via trade if it means you overpay or give up way too much. Dallas was in talks with the Texans but a 2nd and Dallas being on the hook for the 18 mill no, that is not a good deal for the Cowboys.

I’m not particularly bothered that we didn’t trade for a WR.. we’d have probably overpaid for someone who actually isn’t that much of a difference maker.
Also I think that when they’re all fit, our group of WR’s along with our TE’s, make a pretty good receiver’s group.
I was hoping we’d get another body in to help with stopping the run, we may yet do by picking up a free agent (Suh?) but let’s trust Dan Quinn that he can sort out the issues… Having both Sam Williams and Malik Hooker available would certainly help.

And one final thing, ALL these teams splashing out in the hope of winning the Super Bowl, will ultimately all fail bar one at best…

They made changes earlier, would you rather they what until 5 minutes left? Some are overrating the need to make an Amari Cooper type transaction. When you have a good team with good depth, financially it doesn't make sense to make a "splash" move just to make fans happy. These good players need to get paid.

There are still a couple of players out there on the sideline who could potentially help the Cowboys. Not sure if either (Suh, OBJ) is worth the risk given their price tag and or injury situation.

The Cowboys made a good move bringing Hankins in. Glad it wasn't Quinn. Selling out for a 29 years old WR was not the way to go about improving the team.

There were deals to be had our there yesterday that would have improved the team, but they did nothing again. Truly pathetic. Expect another first round playoff exit from this crew.

Well it hasn't improved yet.

The defense did give up 240 rushing yards against the Bears.

I think most of that yardage came from running outside and not up the middle. There were a couple of plays where the Bears got big yardage up the middle, one for 36 yards, but Hankins was not in on those plays. On the 36 yard run Kearse and Donovan Wilson were out too. Bland and Mukuamu missed tackles. The run defense is bad, but I don't think the problem is up the middle.

Of course all those yards count, but when I watched the game a second time replaying plays when Hankins was in there, he did make a difference. He does not get moved and he gets some push. Stopping the run will take more than 1 guy. If our DEs would stop chasing the plays inside and contain the outside runs, they will give up less rushing yards by a lot.

At this point I am convinced Sam Williams is their best run defending DE. Lawrence will make a few plays but he just gets burned crashing inside so much.

I’d like to know which deal that went down on Monday that people think we should have done.

Can’t just say “we should have gotten another run stopper” when maybe no one wanted to trade one.

It’s not at all fair to have expected them to get any player that wasn’t actually moved.

So you criticize the front office for not making a move. Tell us what move you would have made so we can criticize your arse. Come on tough guy...show us what you got.

I get it, you’re lacking mental ability, but try and keep up.

Well your weird rant seems to be misguided and awkward.

Did you read the OP post? Since your little feelers got all twisted defending his post and my reaction lets go back to it and get your input.

He said every single team in contention made trades at the deadline but us. So tell me all these teams at the deadline that made trades. Btw we made a trade a few days ago like a few teams.

Coming here and holding your breath and stomping your feet pouting like a child while lying isnt the problem to you. It's the people that expose the lie that is the problem I guess.

You’re asking for people to post the trades FOR YOU when your phone has the internet. For once, can you not post like that idiot who just lost his own court case.

I mean a receiver to free up ceedee lamb would’ve been nice since he hasn’t broke the 100 yard mark yet this season especially as a number 1, while Coop has done it three times already, playing for the mighty Cleveland browns. Jerry knows best though. SMH.

Let's just see what we're able to do with what we already have in house. The candidates for signing that were left would all likely have taxed us beyond our limitations to replace the injured players that are sure to show up in the remainder of the present season. None of them would have assured us of reaching Super Bowl contention, in all likelihood. One more expensive addition wouldn't likely have been enough to assure this team of that.

Falling for Jerry's BS did some of us no favors whatsoever here of late. He'd have done the Cowboys fans a big favor by remaining silent, rather than creating false hopes. As things now stand, we have a very good team that promises to win more than its share of games in the season that remains. Let's try to relax and enjoy it, without any needless hand wringing and discontent setting in. We'll do well with what we already have available.

What most really mean is “we didn’t trade for Derrick Brown or Bradley Chubb so we suck!”

Mental ability is it? You think Dallas would have traded Micheal Irvin? Even after Micheal stabbed a teammate in the neck, Dallas still didn't trade him. Teams don't trade a high performing number one WR. So what does that tell you about these guys that were on the trading block. They either aren't that good and/or they aren't worth the time and money.

Why are some Cowboy fans on this website trying to get rid of Dak and/or Zeke? Because some fans don't think they are worth the time or money. But why is the front office not trying to get rid of Dak or Zeke? Because the front office sees value in those guys. Every front office around the league has certain players that they wouldn't trade for anything. The guys that were traded here recently don't have much value to their own teams. Their own teams see them as easily replaceable. And here you are wanting us to trade for an easily replaceable player who's more than likely not performing up to his contract. But you say I lack mental ability.
:lmao:

THEY ARE ON THE TRADING BLOCK FOR A REASON.

Claypool would have been a great addition, but Chicago did trade a top 4 pick as I still think they are picking in the top 10.
DJ Moore for a 1st would be tempting and he is signed for 3 more years on a reasonable contract.
