Winning will be acceptable when the Cowboys beat the Ravens. They'll be plenty more acceptable results moving forward. This team will surge.

The Jones family and the key players both know as long as they keep finishing seasons over .500, all their jobs are safe and the money will keep rolling in.

100% spot on.

It doesn’t help with contract negotiations either.

Imagine you’re a player. Who has busted his butt since you were a kid to make it to the NFL.

Who has played hurt and tired and worked endlessly to get there.

Then when you’re finally up for your first NFL contract you’re looking across the table at Stephen Jones of all people. Silver spoon Stephen. A guy who has accomplished nothing in life, had everything handed to him due to his dad. A guy who sucks at his job but keeps it because daddy owns the team.

Imagine that silver spoon ****** bag saying to you (and the media, mind you). That you need to take less for the team. That you need to take less because there’s only “so much pie to go around”.

I honestly wouldn’t even be able to listen to him run his mouth like that without wanting to flip the table and punch him in his entitled mouth.

And then we fans wonder why none of the players take a hometown discount.

A hometown discount for who? For what? For Stephen jones who sucks as EVP and who has more money than he could ever spend thanks to Daddy?

Pfffffffffft
He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a chemical engineering degree. He was a 4-year letterman for the Razorbacks, playing linebacker and special teams and started in the 1987 Orange Bowl.

You?

lol. None of which makes him worthy of being EVP of an NFL team.

He wouldn’t have that job if his dad didn’t own the team. Bringing up his Wikipedia profile doesn’t change that.

His resume is in no way shape or form reflective of somebody being EVP.

You know it and I know it.

Oh I know what you’re referring to. You can’t defend Stephen on his actual record or qualifications as EVP, so you want to make it about me instead.

I have a Masters degree. I’m a program director in a health insurance company.

My daddy doesn’t own an NFL team though, so no NFL front office jobs for me.

You got me though. Stephen was a good football player in college. I’m sure other teams will be beating down his door to run their franchise once Jerry is gone.

So you’ve accomplished squat since that’s what you said about Jones. It’s easy behind a keyboard but you’d never say that to his face.

Oh please, spare us the melodrama. It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and throw around words like “unacceptable” and “lazy culture” as if you have some inside scoop.

If you actually understood how NFL teams work, you’d realize change doesn’t happen overnight. Sure, the playoff loss stung, but to act like firing the GM or head coach every time things don’t go perfectly is the answer? Laughable. You’ve clearly ignored the fact that success in this league takes more than just knee-jerk reactions after every loss. The Cowboys aren’t just "accepting" losing — they’re building something, even if you can’t see it through your rose-tinted nostalgia glasses of the '90s.
Somebody pull out an ice cold bottle of Don Padron and a big box of Crackers. We'll be ready for next weeks game.

I’m not the EVP of the Dallas Cowboys Rockport.

I’m not arguing I should be the EVP. I’m arguing somebody qualified should be. That means I shouldn’t be EVP and neither should Stephen Jones.

You’re so pathetic in your attempts to defend the FO that you are trying to change the point of what’s being argued.

Use your head to make a rational argument about how Stephen jones is worthy of his role based on his accomplishments and resume, or respectfully, piss off.

The one word theme we heard post game yesterday and even the day after from Jerry, Mike McCarthy, Dak, Micah and Cedee, and anyone else talking after that 44-19 beat down home loss was…”unacceptable”. Yeah, Blah, blah, blah.

Cowboys‘ fans reaction should be: “Oh really? Because last January, after the most embarrassing playoff loss in Cowboys history, that’s what you also told us then. Why don’t you start showing us instead of telling us.”

If that playoff loss to the 7th seeded packers in January was really that “unacceptable”, then why do we still have the same GM, EVP, head coach, starting QB, star WR, and the so called generational defensive talent that surrendered a collective 92 points at home in the last two home games? The obvious and truthful answer to that question is: Because losing IS acceptable here.

Let me put it another way: If losing were so unacceptable, why do we have the same people in charge year after year after 28 years? Yeah, I know, that same guy in charge also owns the team, and the coaches and players he’s chosen to pay the most have sucked too. But the guy at the top and his DNA entitled son never admit fault or receive any accountability. THAT is what has most created and contributed to this fat, bloated and lazy culture that basically winks and offers platitudes after getting their posterior shot off at home.

As far as I’m concerned, the most important people associated with this entire organization have clearly made losing completely acceptable. Because nothing changes with the people most responsible.
I remember Irvin being interviewed on TV in '93 after going 0-2 sans Emmitt Smith.

You could almost feel the bile & fear in his gut. The contempt for losing was visually palpable: "We are paid to win football games. PERIOD."

These guys? They are readying to get on with post-game plans down 21-6. You can tell when Dak thinks it's out of reach. It's just an eyeroll, a blank stare and that's it.

This team makes me sick. But it's my team. It is what it is.

So, what do you actually know about positional movements with years experience in the NFL. Dallas actually possesses a history of retention along with production. Instead of assuming you have court experience as well, what was the largest amount of money actually filed upon by yourself?

Great post Bob..this is a lost franchise, everything that Landry and in a much smaller size Johnson built are a fading memory, most of the players starting for the team now wouldn't be 3rd string on their teams, and to make it worse Jones has kept players that are some of the most weak minded gutless players I have ever seen and there's no end in sight.

I don’t defend the FO. Keep up. I just don’t like people throwing around lies like “he’s never accomplished anything” around. That’s being dishonest at best.

It’s called hyperbole to drive home the overarching point which was correct.

But you really do know it’s true and that Stephen belongs nowhere near the FO.

You’re just such a homer that you felt the need to grasp at anything you could to minimize the overall point of what was being said.

You have no argument of substance. Move along.

No it’s not called lying. You’re just too dense to understand the concept of hyperbole.

Ok Rockport.

How about you focus on the actual topic.

Based on his qualifications and resume does Stephen Jones deserve to be EVP on a team based on his merit?

Second question, based on the cowboys track record any many failures. Do you think he or Jerry would still have their jobs if somebody else owned the team.

Answer the questions or again, piss off.
You lying was my focus. Hate on bro and don’t take accountability for yourself.

I just told you it was hyperbole. That means I literally am telling you that those comments were exaggerated and not meant to be taken literally.

So I’m literally telling you I made exaggerated claims, not intended to be taken literally. And yet, you claim I’m not “taking accountability”.

What more do you want.

Oh rockport. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I didn’t mention Stephen’s bachelors degrees and that he played college football. Please forgive me.

Stephen’s bachelors degree in chemical engineering changed everything I said about Stephen’s ability to run an NFL team.

By the way. I notice how you won’t answer the question because you’re a shameless, pathetic homer who spends way too much time searching the board for ways to attack people who you view as being not supportive enough of the cowboys.

It’s honestly pathetic dude.

OK ace dealer. How long were you a special policy writer and explain to us what Old Line Legal Reserve is about. THEN we might, work up a discussion involving merit and value of the Joneses and the Cowboys.

Myself, I filed on 120,000 two times, first entering as a governmental worker....leaving the military and postal service.

Chirp on when someone walks by your cage...

Keep your scorn stuck in your gums. I didn't hear past your inference of a group reference. I could care less with an implied reference of anything from your lame direction. You can't own up to jackass, much less make it through lockup without cuffs.

You and your 'ol boys go ahead and mount up....don't forget to slurp your beer. As if you and your 'boys' know where a cat walk in a casino is located....grab a green chip. Yea, pay attention to your money. Cheating starts at a felony. (green is 25$)
