Out of curiosity have you evaluated the draft yet and with any speculative certainty reveal the difference in picks between the spots we lose if we win a couple more games ?

Perhaps if we can associate some specific talents more fans could come on board with losing now.

If we lose our last 2 games we’ll be picking between #4-7, if we win just 1 more game we’ll be picking around #14.

If we pick #14 or higher. We will miss out on the top LB. Probably the top 2 corners. The top 1-2 edge rushers. Possibly the top safety.

We need defensive help! The 4th-7th picks would really help this D next year.

There is so much wrong with this. First you don’t know what pick we’ll have off we win. It all depends so quit acting like you’re Karnak. Second, you said they’ll not have a chance to pick the top players which is also hogwash. Pro bowl players can be found at any pick in any round. The only thing you got right is that the team needs defensive help but my dog knew that.

With the players we have available right now we cannot consistently stop the run. We cannot consistently run the ball. We are playing our 3rd string tackles. We give up the most points in the NFL. Our defense lacks talent and does not work together because our DC is terrible.

Of course players and coaches want to win every game, because they are actually playing and coaching in the games, but fans, are sitting in their easy chairs just watching the games. Fans have the ability to root for what is best for their team’s future. Some fans, most fans are very short sighted and want instant gratification. So regardless of the circumstances,( see above: we can’t stop the run or run consistently etc.) most fans always want their team to win every game.

I’m not one of these fans. I am a realist. I realize our team has, a snow balls chance in hel_ of making a run in the playoffs. I’m willing to delay my gratification this year, when it comes to team wins, ( I cheer for individual plays and players) to improve our chances of winning a Super Bowl in the future.

If we lose our last 2 games, hopefully in competitive games, we still have a chance for the 4th pick in the draft according to Tankathon stats. ( Carolina needs to beat Washington=50/50, Atlanta needs to beat Tampa Bay=50/50, Houston needs to beat the Bungles=90/10

If we win 1 more game we will be picking between 10-13.

We need the 4th or 5th pick in the draft to give us more options( trade back, etc. ). We need new starters from the draft because we won’t be able to afford many Free Agents. We will come back strong next year with a healthy team and a bunch of early round draft picks!

Losing a couple close games now, helps our team win BIG in the future. Don’t settle for late season wins, (this makes Jerry so happy) which really do hurt our future!

I was referring to specific players. Names we can compare between who we could draft versus those we could miss out on. I think it could help your argument . And if part of your plan is dumping Dak won’t a QB in 1st round be a priority?

If we stay with Dak the draft will be EXTREMELY important. We won’t have very much money to spent on QUALITY Free Agents. We will need to have a strong draft to fix this defense.

IF,we lose out, and pick in the top #4-6, we have an excellent chance for the top rated LBer, Micah Parsons or the top rated CB’s, Caleb Farley and Patrick Surtain the 2nd.

Parson’s could put some serious pressure on Jaylon and LVJ. Would not be surprised at all if Parsons was starting early in the season.

Farley pairing with Diggs would upgrade us a CB BIG time!

This year with the Salary Cap not going up, we especially, need as much draft Capital as possible! Pick 4-6 will be so much more advantageous than picking 14-18.

If you have a much earlier pick in EVERY round, say #5 in every round, compared to #15 in every round, you greatly increase your probability of picking a better player. This does not mean you will pick a better player, BUT you have a much better PROBABILITY of picking a better player.
