Jimmy has said Dak is an early read QB, just like Witten did when he used to be in broadcasting. None of them has an agenda as that point in time

Winning surrounded by pieces is not a complement, as any NFL QB can win when surrounded by talent and in a horrible division. That was self-evident by the fact he was winning. None of that is construed as winning a championship or going deep in the play-offs.

What is also self-evident is he’s straight garbage when he doesn’t have as much talent surrounding him, like what we are seeing now.

We’ve told you all that for years.
And we've been eviscerated for saying it for years. But ultimately those saying this have been Vindicated

LOL, I would advise everyone to read that article for themselves, he just stated his opinion like many have done before that they wouldn't have paid Dak that much. But he never said Dak didn't earn that money, he said Dak is an elite player but not the best player in the league, (which is a debate for anyone to pick who they believe is the best player in the league).
The Jones's always make those contracts to where they can still make moves when needed, Stephen has said this on many occasions.
or better yet.. watch Jimmy’s interview.

He says Cowboys should have held out until end of year. He’s not going anywhere.

He wins the Super Bowl, pay the man. He stinks or gets injured and still want to sign him, then you get a discount.

What 95% of fans thought too. Only Jethro and Son didn’t get it.

"I don't know that a new coach coming in can solve THE PROBLEM."

Dak is THE PROBLEM...according to Jimmy.
Daks not the problem it’s how Jerry paid him top money that’s going to hurt the team for the next 4-5 years. He’s saying you don’t pay a mid tier QB top number one money he needs to much help to succeed, most have been saying it for years except the Dak trolls who actually believe he elevates players, bus drivers shouldn’t get difference maker money, Dak at 25 million not many would complain but it is what it is paid top dollar for a almost QB

as he should, but who is at fault? one Jerry Jones the Idiot GM of the cowboys. He could have just played this year out, use the money to sign some real FAs instead of Zeke and what nots....and make a run and then rebuild. the best move for both sides would have been to play out this last year, let coach and QB walk and do a rebuild....but the idiot GM cornered himself. first, that Dak was still top 20 in jersey sales, that's important to Jerry. second that he had no QBs under contract in 2025.... and instead of getting the signing done in off season, he waited and waited and waited and milked the bad publicity. in the meantime Dak's agent was laughing....either give us what we want or this is the last year and we hit the market.....Jerry cornered himself with Dak's contract for the third time..... and now he is being ridiculed and everything is falling apart around him and he has no idea what to do, but continue the spin.

He aimed for make the playoffs relevance AGAIN, but this time the team was not as well equipped and too aged.

One thing that I hope everyone also understands about the mismanagement of Jerry Jones is how a mediocre product is far more harmful than a handful of terrible seasons. Most awful teams that cycle at the bottom don’t stay there for long. The ones that do are typically hitting franchise reset every 2-3 seasons or have a worse GM than the Cowboys (Dan Snyder). This team cycles in the mediocre to just above mediocre product which can evidently cycle for decades.

The extension of Dak is just an extension of the idiotic notion that the team can make a run of only they can just make the playoffs. There is way more to it than just getting in-otherwise there would be more variance of good teams year to year (decade to decade). Folding can be a sage move when you don’t have the cards and need to wait for a better hand. Doubling and tripling down because you have all the house money is just another way to give your money to someone else because there are no repercussions for stupid decisions. SF and other really good teams wait in the playoffs to call the inferior team’s bet, and then commence the beat down.

Is there anyone in the world besides Jerry that thinks Dak is worth $60 million? I know there are Dak supporters out there but I have yet to hear anyone say convincingly that Dak deserved $60 million
 :clap:99.9% of Cowboys didn't think Dal was worth $60M and his critics know it but still troll every Dak thread as if it's what many fans wanted.

Jimmy is as confusing as his successful tenure with us and his failed tenure with Miami. He is double-talking pre-contract vs post-contract. C'mon Jimmy.

Yep it sucks..

Locked into mediocrity.

I thought it would be that way after the first extension, but after watching him play this season and now yet another leg injury and another year older next year I feel differently.

He is less mobile than Kirk Cousins now (with a much inferior arm), and other teams will be coming after him with reckless abandon. He may burn them a few times, but will not be able to keep that up long. Pocket QB’s must be able to at the very least navigate the pocket-and his strong escape move was to run towards a sideline and then throw OR to take off up the field and bulldoze opposing players. I laughed when people would call Aaron Rodgers a great pocket passer-not his game either as he did many similar things except had an elite arm and football mind-plus always had better pocket awareness and scrambling ability.

This thing is headed for a series of rebuild years no matter what happens to the other pieces on the team-including RB. Next year already looks as tough or tougher than this season. They play the NFC north, who look like the best division in football currently. They also play the AFC West, who look much better overall save for the Raiders. The NFC East looks much better and if the Giants hit on the QB next draft look out. The Cowboys have to now play with a geriatric QB that could not escape a goalpost-with an arm that requires him to corkscrew his entire body to throw it more than 20 yards.

We need to be bad and we were on our way there but now we’re winning so I don’t know.

They will lose to the Bengals and might lose to the Panthers. The Commanders lost to the Cowboys more than the Cowboys won-it was a bizarre game and their kicker gifted the game. The Giants are actively trying to lose games, and their front office and coaching staff are in on it.

there were several paths to deal with the contract they literally chose the worst, sign early restructure early let it play out....not "Let the Tea Leaves" brew or mist or whatever that old fool said and then sign it to the top contract...so dumb. But again to me Dak did the even worse choice because he chose to stay with Jerry knowing how it would go..well Dak here is your prize...

What's wrong with that? The results speak for themselves.
