The Jimmy haters are going to have a meltdown. Get ready for mass repeating of the lie that Jimmy never won anything without Jerry.
In the pros, I believe that would be true. It should be noted that that's not the same as saying Jimmy won because of Jerry.

"I would never have given Prescott a new contract. I'd have let him play it out. He's the highest-paid player in the league, he's not the best player in the league," Johnson said on FOX Sports' "The Herd."

"They're [the Cowboys] so financially strapped right now. I don't know what they do. They talk about changing coaches, but I don't know if changing coaches is going to help them. Mike McCarthy is a good coach."

So you thought you could sneak that in with a qualifier?

Jimmy Johnson was the first coach in football history to win the championship at the highest college level and the Super Bowl.
You said it was a lie to say Jimmy hasn't won anything without Jerry. In the pros, it is not a lie. What does college football have to do with NFL success? Steve Spurrier also won a college national championship and sucked as an NFL head coach. Nick Saban won seven college national championships and sucked as an NFL head coach. I'm absolutely certain that when anyone says Jerry hasn't won anything without Jimmy, they are only talking about in the NFL. Might be something to keep in mind ... or not (whatever floats your boat).

Jimmy should be pissed, he would have never won with a salary cap. That's why he rode off into the sunset. He knew it and did the right thing..
I think you need to go back and look at where Dallas ranked in player salaries during the Johnson years.

So, the real question is why do you hate Jimmy so much that you'll push this narrative?

I told yall there is a narrative that McCarthy is a good coach (he is) going on in media. Jerry is goign to keep him for sure. I still can't beleive we resigned Dak.

Here is the biggest problem Jerry has, he gets burned once and he "doesn't want to make the same mistake again". he got burned in free agency and now we barely use it. He got burned with the Dak Contract and he didn't want to do it, so he rushed a contract when he should have waited. He made the worst possible decisions twice with Dak.

I don't hate Jimmy. If I did, I would start 20 threads a day about him. I respect him, he knew he could no longer support Jerry and he had the balls to walk away. I wish we had more people like that. At the end of the day, he's no longer a Cowboy.

This is what I don’t understand about the League. There are 4-5 QBs that can improve the supporting cast and get you to a Super Bowl. The rest of the league is made up of QBs that need help from a lot of other players to give you a shot at Division Championship. So why overpay so many QBs who never get you close to making it to a Division Championship? Let QBs bounce from one team to another. Perhaps some of these QBs will end up on teams with coaches and personnel that better suit their skillset.

Meh. The highest paid player in the league, isn't always best player in the league. Just latest to get paid.

There will be a new record contract set next year, by someone not named Pat Mahomes or Lamar Jackson.

ChatGPT couldn’t find an example of a starting QB that tore his hamstring and returned to play at a high level. The best example was Vick and he sprained his hamstring and lost some of his explosiveness. I think Dak’s injury has ended his career. Sure, he will attempt to come back, but he will be completely immobile and exposed and will have no option to retire or be forced to retire.

I disagree. Jimmy would have continued to win with the salary cap - he demanded excellence from his players. Perhaps not with the Cowboys, but if you put him at coach on a team with a QB that is dedicated to practicing and getting on others that fail to practice, he would continue winning.
